What say you, FReepers? Price of gasoline in our area has been on a steady decline the last 3 weeks.

Gold is at One Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($1700.00) an ounce. Obama Dollar is worth about 75% of what it was two years ago.
Ergo: Gasoline is now around $3.50 per gal.
See math made easy.
Thanks Barry.

The price of oil per barrel doesn’t have much to do with the price of gasoline at the pump.

My bet is that they will raise the feceral fuels tax, so it won't make any difference right away. THen when the market recovers, the oil companies will get blamed for 'gouging'.
The gas under the stations was refined long before any oil priced at today's prices will get down the pipeline.

It’s been down about $.10 where I get gas here in SC. I could probably pay a bit less, but I get the ethanol-free stuff. The extra mileage is more than worth the little bit extra.

prices won’t go down til the cheaper gas is delivered.

A 50 lb bag of feed costing me $13 two years ago now costs $44.
A box of millet that cost $45 the costs $67 now.
A bag of dried fruit that cost $17 last year now costs $23.
Inflation on people food is just as dismal.

Takes a few weeks to get through the refineries. We’re talking about crude oil prices, much of it from halfway around the world.

Where I live, the gas prices have fallen about 20 cents in one week. In face, the gas station near my house went down a nickel in the last 4 hours. It’s now 3.41 at that station.

See #8 here...and remember, anything below $80/barrel (which is traded in USD) will mean bets are off for USD as petrodollar standard worldwide.

Use this link to create a chart for oil vs. gasoline prices. Select your area and pick a time range:
http://gasbuddy.com/gb_retail_price_chart.aspx
Oil is all over the place, while gasoline changes rather slowly in the big picture.
