It is a shame because Eureka has really pulled it together in Season 5.
I am amazed they survived the completely craptacular Season 3. But the fans of the show demonstrated that they are nothing if not long-suffering, and gave them a second chance.
Thanks tlb.
this turd ran longer than it should have... but it demonstrated the progressive agenda via demographics... so they allowed it.
meanwhile, rubicon and SGU were stopped. (i know, rubicon was AMC)
if you haven’t seen rubicon, you really should.
One less PC show is fine with me.
SyFy hasn’t had any decent programming in quite some time. Probably since someone over there decided that it was a good idea to broadcast WWF on a channel dedicated to science fiction fans.
I miss Caprica.
Come on folks. It is a silly fun little tv show. They had some cool ideas and a good sense of humor. And the women were strong, smart, and hot: it doesn’t get better than that.
Caprica?
Eureka fits the mold of watchable Syfy originals in that it has a sense of humor about itself, unlike Universe or Caprica. Why not get rid of Ghost Watchers instead? Hour after hour of “Did you see that?”
Hi, tlb and company:
‘Eureka’ was great for three seasons. The whole going back in time fourth season plot line should never have been explored. Resulting in very little beside providing grist for future episodes.
Overall, ‘Eureka’ was one of Sy~Fy’s unsung heroes. Sporting a more than decent cast and special effects that kept the series afloat through later bouts of lazy repetitive writing.
I’ll miss the gap in weekly viewing air-time, but those seasons I admire most, I have on DVD.
Jack.
I doubt ratings were quite so important, in the immediate, since the owners hardly seem to have been fair in rolling out the latest season in the target demographic's vacation calendar.
It's possible the market wiped out some investment income behind the show, as well, yesterday.
I hope this isn't a decision to abandon their target demographic in favor of the pewter dragon trailer trash they seem increasingly devoted to.
Fans, I know how you feel. I still haven't forgiven NBC for cancelling Star Trek (TOS, a second time), in the middle of Season Three, in 1969.
More rasslin’ shows planned to replace it then?
Tried watching season one. Didn’t like it. I do actually like “Falling Skies,” which has regular conservative messages that sometimes are quite up front.
SG-1, TSCC and Firefly were all great shows, Eureka was very good, but getting somewhat formulaic and repetitious.
Looking forward to new Being Human (UK) and Fringe episodes.
wow, I did not even get past the pathetic battlestar galactica start.
Syfy has no scifi. they gutted sg1, gave us sith rate low budget mutant movie upon mutant movie, WEAK revisioning of old stories, patheticly fake ghost hunting, and to top it all off....WRESTLING!!!!
eureka aside (it was a series in search of a writer with a consistent vision), there is some person in charge at that channel who has no clue about good sci fi.
They need to make rom for mor wrestling and worthless ghost chasers.
Have you tried ‘Alphas’? Monday evening 10pm. Of course, if you don’t like ‘Eureka’ you’re probably not much for ‘Warehouse 13’ either, so you wouldn’t have gotten to Alphas. It just premiered a few weeks ago.
