I don't mean this as derogatory or to start a negative debate but there is something I have noticed over the last year and I am more curious than anything.
In my area I have noticed an abundance increase in the black culture. When I go to Pizza parlors, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Lowes, Ruby Tuesdays,Pei Wei, Furniture stores, etc. We live about 20 miles outside of Philadelphia and until two years ago you would see very, very few black people at any of these places now it is about 1/3 or more. Now sporting Mercedes', Lexus' and Hummers.
Like I said, I am more curious than anything and wondering why (all of the sudden)....more curious than anything. Anyone know? Like i said i am more perplexed than anything...
I’ve noticed the same thing in my area too. Oregon.
I guessed it was the masses leaving the hell hole known as Detriot, the south after Katrina, LA because there are no jobs, ect. Most all seem to be nice looking family types, a few look a little skecthy. But I guess that is a cross section of America anyway, isn’t it.
Is English your first language?
Are you speaking of Blacks (Like physical people) or black culture?
And you are around Philly?
Why wouldn’t middle class, working families of any race want to get out of that hell-hole?
And I don’t know about where you are from, but around MA when you see a person driving a hummer it is usually a rich white idiot who thinks they will survive the revolution because they can go through a mud puddle.
Hummers and Lexus are not “black culture.”
In terms of Pop culture, white America has been turning to “black culture” since the jazz days. Nothing new there.
Migration? All peoples are constantly moving. They look for better locales than their current one.
Sell everything and run!!!!!!!
lol!
Funny, I’ve worked in Atlanta for ten years now and have noticed any.
Been to the Poconos lately? It's way more than 1/3.
Trying to explain my “concern” in a constructive way (without sounding racist) I rambled on in a “round about” fashion. Your criticism of me is understandable....
With all seriousness, look at the recent report that shows a disparity in wealth and you’ll understand. Value is not put on saving or growing wealth but instead just the moment. I have many friends like these. They have decent jobs but they don’t save, they don’t grow wealth, they don’t continue their education. Instead they spend it all on their cars or socializing. Certain demographics have been targeted by politicians for decades, telling them they don’t need to do what they need to succeed and grow wealth, but instead, to be dependent on big brother. Groups who thrive on this dependency are constantly feeding these groups the lie that they are best off if they are dependent. They go to churches and help people how to get on Lone Star cards, get housing paid for, and a lot of other benefits- even if they don’t need them. I see one couple who I know probably makes $100K between them using a Lone Star card at the grocery. It seems in their community and church, they have a little game where the families who make more money buy these cards from the poorer families.
It is all a cycle of dependency and backwards values designed to keep people, frankly, enslaved to the system.
Well, if you’re a native speaker of another language, your post could be considered relatively coherent, in that we could tell what the point was. If English is your native language, it’s a serious garble, with incorrect usage, poor punctuation, and inadequate organization.
To address your topic, I have not personally observed the phenomena you’ve described, probably because I spend most of my time at home. However, I’ve read a lot on FR!
Three reasons I can think of:
First; Gresham’s law. Businesses are not allowed to discriminate between candidates for hire based on practical criteria, so they hire the least expensive candidate. “The good currency is removed from the market”, and replaced by “bad currency”.
Second; all the money being poured into the economy by the government — tax money, and printed money — is poured in through the welfare class, and has given it power in the market. Businesses cater to this government money. When you see an advertisement, it is not aimed at you, it is aimed at welfare recipients who have a pocket full of government money.
And third; since everyone is in debt, why can’t everyone drive around in an SUV?
They are refugees in search of safety.
Now sporting Mercedes’, Lexus’ and Hummers. Most drug dealers drive high end cars. The drug business is expanding now that Obama&Co. put so many out of work and homes.
Expected
Those funds went largely to the inner cities if I'm not mistaken.
Some are talking about ghetto-flight and that's true...people want to leave the ghettos for the suburbs as soon as they can. But, if it is ghetto-flight, where would ghetto people get the werewithal to leave in the middle of a recession? Perhaps through Gov't handouts which favor the Dems' favorite constituents and keep the rest of America down.
They got their ‘obama stash’? From districts that don’t exist?
