In partnership with aid organizations and a coalition of groups that provide support for African immigrants and refugees, the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago hopes to raise awareness and charitable donations for drought-ridden Somalia during the obligatory fas

If I were the Samalians, I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for the check from CAIR to arrive. That money will go to terrorists.

I like making Rumaki —marinated chicken liver water chestnut wrapped in bacon skewered with toothpick and broiled or grilled. Then eat them after dipping in in hot mustard and/or sweet and sour sauce...nice for hot summer nite snack or meal...:)

Anyone have a good pulled pork recipe? I am serious.

This is wrong, but good!

Orvil Newton’s Renegade Chili
1 ½ Lbs chuck or round beef
1 ½ Lbs lean pork
¼ lb good smoked bacon
One medium yellow onion
6 to eight cloves garlic
fresh chili peppers: a habanero, a couple of poblanos, a couple of jalapenos and a couple of fresnos
dried whole chili peppers: four to six New Mexico red
2 tbs cumin (Or more if you like)
2 tbs oregano
2 tbs paprika
a little salt and black pepper

NOTE: NO TOMATOES - NO BEANS

Chop the onion and garlic
Slice the fresh peppers and remove the seeds
NOTE: wear rubber gloves and safety glasses. I’m not kidding.
Cut the beef and pork into one inch cubes and trim off as much fat as possible
Chop up the bacon and cook in a large skillet
Set aside the cooked bacon and sauté the beef and pork in the bacon grease.
Remove the beef and pork and place in a large stew pot.
Sauté the onion and garlic.
Add the sliced peppers when the onion is translucent.
Add the spices and stir together over the heat for a minute or two then add it all to the stew pot.
Add the dried peppers, add water to cover, cover the pot and simmer for a few hours.
Let cool and skim off the excess grease (Or not).
Best if allowed to sit, refrigerated, for a couple of days before serving.

Serve with pinto beans and tortillas.(And cold Lone Star)

Why not?

Modern Islam is nothing more than another statist form of totalitarianism.

It fits in perfectly with the Eco-NAZIs and Eco-Marxists (all eco-commies).

But why wear green? Why don’t all these Communists just wear red and stop hiding who they really are?

I am reading a book called, The Witness, by Whittaker Chambers, the man who testified against Alger Hiss.

Chambers explains the Communist obsession with environmentalism and re-ordering the world as the vision of man’s mind displacing God as the creative intelligence of the world, man’s mind as rational intelligence redirecting man’s destiny and reordering the world. It is a vision of man as the central figure of creation, not because God made man in his image, but because man’s mind makes him the most intelligent of all animals. Communism challenges man to re-oder the chaos of nature and thus prove that there is no God and that man is supreme.

It’s in my pile of books to read.

If you like that, you’ll also like Codevilla’s “The Ruling Class” and “The Naked Communist” by Skousen.

This is darn good (hot sauce is not optional!):

“Slow-Cooked Pulled Pork

Ingredients

•1 medium onion, chopped

•1/2 cup(s) ketchup

•1/3 cup(s) cider vinegar

•1/4 cup(s) packed brown sugar

•1/4 cup(s) tomato paste

•2 tablespoon(s) sweet paprika

•2 tablespoon(s) Worcestershire sauce

•2 tablespoon(s) yellow mustard

•1 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt

•1 1/4 teaspoon(s) ground black pepper

•4 pound(s) boneless pork shoulder blade roast (fresh pork butt), cut into 4 pieces

•12 soft sandwich buns or ciabatta rolls, warmed

•Dill pickles (optional)

•Potato chips (optional)

•Hot sauce (optional)

Directions

1.In 4 1/2- to 6-quart slow-cooker pot, stir onion, ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, tomato paste, paprika, Worcestershire, mustard, salt, and pepper until combined. Add pork to sauce mixture and turn to coat well with sauce.
2.Cover slow cooker with lid and cook pork mixture on low setting as manufacturer directs, 8 to 10 hours or until pork is very tender.
3.With tongs, transfer pork to large bowl. Turn setting on slow cooker to high; cover and heat sauce to boiling to thicken and reduce slightly.
4.While sauce boils, with 2 forks, pull pork into shreds. Return shredded pork to slow cooker and toss with sauce to combine. Cover slow cooker and heat through on high setting if necessary.
5.Spoon pork mixture onto bottom of sandwich buns; replace tops of buns. Serve sandwiches with pickles, potato chips, and hot sauce if you like.”
