The royal family is worried about Kate Middleton's health as the Princess collapsed at the end of her North American tour and was ordered immediate bed rest.
The Duchess of Cambridge, who reportedly wears a perfect size zero has sparked off concerns that her weight loss might be detrimental to her health and her ability to conceive.
An earlier report in IBT quoted Doctor Chris Steele telling Britain's Daily Star that if Kate continued to lose any more weight it was "entirely medically plausible she will have extreme difficulty getting pregnant."
"You only need look at the pictures from the current visit to Canada to see that she really has lost a lot of weight and that she's bordering on anorexia," Fabiola De Clercq, founder of Italy's Association for the Study and Research of Anorexia, told India.tv.
Looks like these fears weren't completely groundless as Middleton's official engagements were cancelled on her return from her hectic North American tour so that she could get some much needed rest.
"To make matters even worse, Kate Middleton has been starving herself to maintain her supermodel, svelte royal image. And to fit into all those chic designer clothes," wrote Hope Carson in celebs.gather.com.

i respect Diana. she put up with a lot, from a real jerk.
but, i’m confused. you talk about scrawny women.
i think Diana at the same age was much more slender and delicate. Kate in her swimsuit, looks athletic, with muscular legs, not scrawny.
...and, i like that Kate was his TUTOR. beauty AND brains!
It’s real. Taken at a windy airport greeting ceremony. The photographers were just snapping away unaware of what they were shooting but numerous shots were quite revealing that she was wearing a thong that day. A few papers published and got a lot of complaints of tastelessness. She probably would have been better off with something else that would have prevented the wardrobe malfunction.
Royal hottie ping?
I was just joking with shotgun-whazz-his-name (?!) because he called me “biased” for some reason. I hadn’t even mentioned Diana!
I do think Diana was far more beautiful and charismatic than Kate. She’s a pretty girl but I grew up with Diana. She was my generation’s Kate. I also liked Diana’s tawny beauty more than the brunette prettiness of the Duchess. Just personal taste. She does need to gain a little weight, though.
Weights in the hem of the dress. This never happened to Diana, folks! (And that photo of her legs through the thin skirt when she was still single doesn’t count!)
She needs another 10-15 pounds on that thing, which would improve the Prince’s grip and provide more overall satisfaction.
I didn't notice.
The pressure to look perfect must be horrendous for that girl. My advice: Kate eat a cheeseburger once in awhile.
Recently spend 2 weeks in England (London, the Lake District, and the Ribble Valley outside Manchester) and didn’t have a single bad meal. The black pudding in the North alone would’ve been worth the trip.
Well THAT'S not very exciting, now, is it? ;o)
*snort*
“... didn’t have this problem before my three kids”
Carrying those babies, feeding them constantly... does put the weight on! The hardest thing in the world is when I put down a nice, fresh baked plate of chocolate chip cookies for them. Then, I eat a d*** rice cake. Life is NOT fair! LOL!
LOL! You got THAT right!!
While in LA she should have been taken to Bobs Big Boy in Toluca Lake where she should have had a Big Boy with avocado and bacon, fries extra well done with a side of thousand, a salad with blue cheese dressing and a cherry-lemon-orange to drink.
A week of this and she's ready for El Coyote and then the World.
My husband decided to “drop a few pounds”. He ate normally, didn’t exercise but cut back on a few beers. Boom! He dropped eight pounds in one week. Meanwhile, I am eating lettuce, radishes, boiled cabbage and a piece of fruit. One pound and a half in a week. The worst is when he said, “I think my pants are getting loose”. Yeah, yeah, yeah... I’m so happy for you, honey, that I could barf! LOL!
Kate is prettier than Diana was at 29, and will age well.
Diana was a knockout in her 30s, but Kate will be even moreso.
Wow, lucky you! I’ve never been to the Lake District. I can’t get out of London generally (poor me, right?)
I’m crazy about black pudding. If it’s good, it’s great! I eat it all: potted shrimp, lamb with game chips, eccles cake, simnel cake, Lancaster hot pot, etc. The only thing I have trouble acquiring a taste for is suet puddings. I still taste the beef.
Cheap cameras might shutter, but they don’t collapse. Beyond that I will forestop the give and take. They are totally different women. Di was show and short on substance. Remember, Di was trained as a nanny. Kate has an actual collegiate diploma and shows that she is (and has) learned. I’m impressed with her aplomb, her presence, and yes, her aspect. She’s a “got it” gal. Case closed with prejudice.
So far as “bias” is concerned, the word is neither political nor apolitical. It means “to give a personal and unreasoned judgement.” I think we have enough evidence of that here, do we not? sd
I wish I could post some photos of Diana. There is a gigantic black and white photo of her in the National Portrait Gallery that comes at the bottom of one of the staircases. It is placed so perfectly that people gasp when they see it. She is youth personified in the photo although it was probably taken when she was in her early 30s.
Diana was also accused of anorexia (as well as bulimia).
Why are you so unpleasant about the pleasant subject of Kate Middleton and Diana Spencer?
I’m no snob about education and Kate’s diploma means little to me. Diana, indeed, was a nanny - although she was a Lady from the Spencer-Churchill dynasty. Much, much beloved by the family she served. She invited them to her wedding and wrote to them throughout her lifetime. They were devastated by her death.
And don’t be so literal. Collapsing like a cheap camera is simply a New York colloquialism. Sheesh.
