My irritation with pro football (and baseball and basketball) started when we taxpayers were forcefully obligated to build their stadiums (and arenas), so that billionaire owners were made richer and their players could be given outlandish contracts. We taxpayers are now the sugar daddy of all this and it is wrong.

A fundamental rule of a capitalist society is that business for profit is to be funded 100% by owner investors and capitalists, and not subsidized by a public forcefully taxed by politicos to the benefit of their special cronies.

I was once an avid pro sports fan, but I’ve now lost interest in proportion with every billion dollar stadium that the owner thieves and their political friends have saddled and forced upon us taxpayers. I see it as a crony system, and capitalism is not supposed to operate that way. Too much of our country operates that way and that is one of the reasons we are in debt.

My husband and I prefer college sports and wouldn't have cared a bit if pro football was on a lock out through the entire coming season.

My adult son, on the other hand, would have been miserable all season long.

Free angency ruined the NFL. I like the NFL less and less every season.

Go Cowboys, or any team other than the pats. :)

Yeah. And please explain to me why I should give a care about these multimillionaire jockstraps and the multimillionaire owners? A plague on both their houses!

Let the stadiums go dark; let the jockstraps and owners play golf and fly around in their private jets or play on their yachts. Let them eat Spam. What a bunch of spoiled, rich brats.

I am all about equality in professional sports: shut them all down — NFL, AFL, NHL,NBA, MLB — send the jockstraps and owners packing.

With Bread, I guess it’s ok to have a circus...the battle of the millionaires against the evil billionaires!

I for one am tired of the down right idol worship of “professional” athletes getting paid for their motor skills.

But do carry on...

I'm going down to Davie FL, and watch the practices. If I see anything that resembles being a wussie, I will yell it from the roof tops.

Be advised Fish, it's time for a Superbowl ring. If you don't have the dream, you don't have the team. Mr. Sporano, ya ain't got much time...right Mr. Parcell?

So, yes.
