A lot of people don’t realize that when you take drugs, even alcohol, to excess, that each and every time, *damage* has happened to your insides, more or less. And that damage is cumulative. Most of the time, it only shows up years later, but if you really slam the drugs and alcohol hard, you can get acute damage that kills you quick.

Right now, a lot of baby boomers who did drugs like mushrooms and mescaline in the 1960s are suddenly cropping up with metastasized liver cancer, the end result of damage they did many years before, even though they eventually adopted a healthier lifestyle.

But to some surprise, even though she was a severe user of drugs, the pathologist might discover that she didn’t have too many drugs in her at that moment. Of course it is most likely that she had so many drugs in her system that her blood looked like syrup.

I had seen pictures of Amy Winehouse but I had never heard any of her music. I went to Youtube after she died and heard her sing for the first time. I love her voice and the mournful quality of her songs, I am sorry that there will be no more. RIP Amy, if you can.
