I remember about three or four years ago, I made an off-the-cuff post at FR saying that if Winehouse didn’t face her problem and get real help, she wasn’t going to make 30. Can’t say I’m happy at being right. It’s terrible to see anyone destroy themselves, especially someone so young.

It’s always tragic when a life ends unnecessarily at a young age, especially when it was totally avoidable. Like most Freepers, I wasn’t a fan of Amy Winehouse but I half-expected she would end up dead of drugs and alcohol abuse. Its too bad no one could save Amy from herself. Condolences to her family and her fans.

JeSUS! Shock! I suppose it shouldn’t be a shock, but her age just makes you shake your head. RIP, and I hope she does find peace now, finally.

She had a really good voice.
Just not in her head.

Wow—but in many ways, not surprised. She had a long history of substance abuse and her untimely death in many ways did not surprised many in the music industry.

Damn shame, what a waste of talent. All the riches and fame in the world can’t always overcome a drug habit.
