90 some children, at last report, are dead in Norway. More compelling news. So for Amy Winehouse, to quote Curly Bill, "Well... Bye!"

Many of us would take the time to read about every one of the 90 Norwegian children as well. These are all God's children, including Amy Winehouse.

Looks like Amy chose heroin over God IMHO.

That’s 73 points if you had her.

Ping to Howie Carr show list; will there be a death pool on Monday etc. because of this?
Amy one of several rockers, etc. to die at 27 (Hendrix, Cobain, Joplin)...while the Who sang “Hope I die before I get old”, I prefer the philosophy of the offbeat 80s/90s band They Might Be Giants: “...and I hope that I get old before I die”.

You can see these things coming. During one of Michael Jackson’s controversies about poss. child molestation, I heard he was addicted to prescription drugs. I figured sooner or later it would get him. I was right.

Helen Keller could’ve seen that one coming.

Yep. Frankly, I've never understood why people thought she was "so talented."

Any woman with that many tramp stamps on her and all ....

Unlike Morrison and Joplin, Amy could sing.

You call what she did "singing?" You've one strange sense of music son...

That is possible but I would not say those are necessarily mutually exclusive choices. And, in any event, God has infinite mercy, if she should choose to accept it.

It’s not just music stars, most creative artistic people are troubled in a certain sense. It goes with not knowing how to fit into a “normal” sort of life or how to meet expectations that you set for yourself. Some handle it better than others, but apparently Winehouse just couldn’t get the help she needed.

There was a thread about this earlier but for some reason it was pulled. Another member of the 27 Club.

Yup, maybe Jim Morrison was in it too, not sure....Lennon lived to be 40 but died of lead poisoning, you might say

I love the Doors one that goes something like:

“There is a buterrfly-ay-ay
in the sky ay-ay
It once flew over here
and now flies over there
It’s a circle and a square
Oh yeeeah!”

It’s not just the lyrics, it’s the meaning behind them, ya know?

No, I do not feel nostalgic for the crass, silly orgiastic me-generation symbology that directly destroyed so many lives in Vietnam, and more generally destroyed so much about what made our country great.

Winehouse was just another singer with a drug and alcohol problem. She was pretty good at singing, too.

I don’t count Cobain, since he planned his own demise at 27.

No need for rehab. She quit.

Why do music stars have the desire to use drugs?

So someone else can make all the money off of the memorial albums?

It took a while, but I came to appreciate and enjoy her voice — she stood out of the crowd.

Because people who like to be the center of attention are usually insecure. And they need constant reassurance that you like them, you really, really like them. So they’re susceptible to abusing drugs and alcohol to deal with their insecurities.

The tats don't sing. Appearance is irrelevant.

You can ooh and aaahhh at the paint, but sometimes it's what's under the hood that counts.

Heroin overdose: Still more glamorous than getting taken out by a friggin ham sandwich.
