"She created nothing really new. Musician? I havent seen evidence of anything unusual that countless amateurs cant do." There's no accounting for taste and I respect your opinion as your opinion, but I know of no musician or vocalist or respected critic - in or outside the R&B or hip-hop crowd - who would agree with you. Beyond this you're just flaming on a dead Winehouse thread. It's okay to say you don't know anything about her or her talents but you miss the rock music of the 60s.

Why do music stars have the desire to use drugs? Puzzle it just seems widespread. I don't think it's as bad as it used to be, but record labels would put their talent on a grueling pace to make as much money as possible while the band was popular. Many of them would start doing drugs to keep up.

Thanks for thought. There must be a supplier hiding behind every stage door to tell them this with limited resistance. What part do agents play in this culture?

The Brits are so far gone, that they can't even give you the reason for why they all live on an island.
Amerika is close behind them though.

Thanks for thought. There must be a supplier hiding behind every stage door to tell them this with limited resistance. What part do agents play in this culture? It is part of the culture. Even the ones who don't make it big work in clubs where drugs are easily available and probably frequently offered. They work unusual hours, may have day jobs, or may travel a lot on top of everything else. I think the drug use starts when they need something to help keep them going, and then they need something to wind down.

Therefore, these artists are heavily shielded and protected by their agents, security guards, etc.. and get little real human interaction. In twenty-five words or less, that girl needed a friend, someone who cread enough to tell her what they thought, not a worshipper, but someone who was there, who could be trusted to just tell it like it is. Maybe she had one, and cut them off. Pity, either way.

Yeah, she did. Heroin was more important than bothering to listen to what God was screaming in her heart.
