.......................The president placed responsibility in the premises (that the army will disintegrate without extending the statutory one year service) solely upon the legislative branch. He avoided in asking for any particular language or form of measure. He expressed hope, however, that Congress would “acknowledge” a state of national emergency, either for a specific time or until revocation by itself or the President......................
What say this group? Did the President act properly?

- "The fighting of the panzer group reaches to a depth of several hundred kilometers and along an exceptional width...The security of the deep flanks, not just the outer flanks of the panzer group, but also the inner flanks of the widely dispersed and engaged panzer corps, is very difficult and absorbs much strength, which results in the loss of the spearhead. Motorized troops cannot be used for this security activity if the panzer corps is to be used as a powerful attacking force. For the security of the flanks, the supply routes and the airfields requires the commitment of the infantry." - 4th Panzer Army
- 18th Panzer Division is reinforced with 30 new Panzer Mark IIIs and IVs which only bring the division up to 20 percent of its full operational strength.
- A German raid of almost 200 bomber attacks Moscow dropping 104 tons of high explosives and 46,000 incendiary bombs. 22 planes are lost with the result of the attack being only 130 people killed and 37 buildings destroyed.

Here's a picture of the Gunnel hitting the waves after its completion on 17 May next year. Even after this expansion it still takes 10 months to build a submarine. I bet their time will get better as the war goes on.
