At least four Democratic senators are advocating legal action against News Corp. for allegedly violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act by paying British police for information. Former Department of Justice attorneys David B. Rivkin Jr. and Lee A. Casey argue that legislation enacted to police bribery in government contracting is not applicable to news gathering.
Get rid of the police who take the bribes and everything’s OK.
Ah, but the lies of MSM and daily wikileak hacking scandal is all fine...
Absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the News Corp's Fox News subsidiary is such a singularly CENTER VIEWPOINT media provider as opposed to the multiple other alphabet and dead-tree media outlets, right? Could it be that these esteemed solons feel threatened by the non-left purveyors of information and wish to quash it?
Gee, I wonder where I got that impression? Could it be from Sen. Rockefeller's statement [2010] desiring the FCC to shut down Fox [and MSNBC] in order to improve political discourse? I can look up these other Senators but I believe that similar statements could be found from each of them. There is something that is ever so soothing to the governing class mind in a compliant media.
