While this is anecdotal, there's a lot to learn here. We see the beginning of the Liberal 2012 meme and its talking points. Everything is the fault of Bush and the Republicans. Everything that isn't is the result of conservative hate and racism. Don't laugh. A poll today on FR mentions that the majority of those polled blame the Republicans for the debt crisis and believe the Republicans want to take-away social security and Medicare. We see from this fellow that Liberals cannot debate -- they simply hammer their opponents with false charges and let the Rancid Media carry the ball for them. We also see that except for pre-election passions, conservatives generally lose public support. If the Left wins the current budget ceiling/tax battle, what can stop a Dem win in 2012? Liberals have achieved the impossible: they live in a fantasy world they created and from which events fail to shake them, like that Star Trek fan that insists upon wearing her "Starfleet uniform" to work every day.

In a world where comedian Bill Maher can appear as a guest on Time-Lies-Warner’s CNN New Network to provide political commentary, rational debate with the Left has ceased to exist.

At this point in time, anyone who still supports Obama is not capable of seeing the truth, or is deliberately lying. I suspect most are just deliberately lying.

Bush's deficit in 2007 was $162B.

Obama's deficit in 2010 was $1.6T. Ten times higher.

But the Left will always complain about Bush's "record deficits".

From what I can see, conservatives are single issue voters and as long as the party is "anti abortion", the millionares can sucker the little guy into going along with the massive tax breaks for millionares and billinares

It's socialist billionaires like Bill Gates and George Soros who support BObama.

It's Barry O'bama who passed the jet tax break in the stimulus bill that was opposed by the GOP.

Single issues like abolishing slavery and permitting women to vote are on par with abolishing infanticide. Once the issue has been settled and human rights have been protected, the NEXT issue can be tackled.

As I see it, until there is a constitutional amendment ending abortion (protecting life) the issue will not be settled so apart from voting out of office those who want federal funding of abortions, there is little outcome that I expect in addressing this issue. It isn't the carrot that drives me to go vote.

CBS: Obama says he cannot guarantee Social Security checks will go out on August 3

President Obama on Tuesday said he cannot guarantee that retirees will receive their Social Security checks August 3 if Democrats and Republicans in Washington do not reach an agreement on reducing the deficit in the coming weeks.

“I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven’t resolved this issue. Because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it,” Mr. Obama said in an interview with CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley, according to excerpts released by CBS News.

(Excerpt)

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20078789-503544.html

Either Obama is lying, or the hundreds of democrats who’ve been telling us for decades that the Social Security funds are safe in a “lock box” were lying.

Democrats have been claiming on every single Sunday TV talk show that “SS is fully self funded and is NOT adding a dime to the deficit or debt.” So how can the debt limit have any bearing on these payments?

In the proposed 2011 budget, the White House defensively attacks the “irresponsibility of past” deficits. For example, the 2009 budget deficit of $1.4 trillion is blamed on the George W. Bush administration as if President Obama’s $862 billion stimulus package and more than $400 billion supplemental spending bill had nothing to do with it. Mr. Obama’s planned 2010 budget deficit rises to an even higher record level of $1.6 trillion. By comparison, all of Mr. Bush’s deficits from 2002 to 2008 - the seven years during which his team had the most control over the budget - produced a combined deficit of $2.1 trillion.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/feb/08/a-deficit-avalanche/

...much of the debt problem IS Bush’s fault, just not MOST of it.

When Bush took over the country from Clinton, he inherited a balance budget and Clinton paid down $1 trillion on natl debt, yet you just heard negative from conservatives about Clinton.

He inherited a dot-com bubble burst and a recession that he was told not to talk about in the 2000 election. The Left said that Bush was CAUSING a recession by talking about it during the campaign.

He also inherited the Fannie/Freddie mess that Barney Frank and other Rat criminals didn't want investigated in 2003. Barney Frank said that Bush's talk about it was causing problems for Fannie.

Seems to be a trend here.

The GOP does a piss-poor job of explaining anything. They are afraid to say what they believe and, worse yet, they will not defend what they profess they believe. I loved Herman Cain when some idiot newspaper jerk said he didn't have any political experience and Cain shot back: Ninety-two percent of Congress have held their current seat before, suggesting deep political experience. How's that working out for you?

We need the GOP to point out that 80% of all new jobs are created by small businesses. If you or your kids ever hope to have a job, you need to do all you can to encourage those people to put it all on the line and start a business. Instead, Democrats do everything they can to raise taxes on business, telling everyone that profit is a dirty words. Well, if you buy into that BS...if taking a huge chunk of the profits away from greedy businessmen is good for us, then why not take ALL the profit away from businesses and make everything great for all of us. Do that and watch how many businesses open their doors next Monday.

Read my tag line...it's true.

There was never a “budget surplus” under Clinton. That entire argument is based on a huge lie. Check annual increases in federal debt during the Clinton years...he never missed raising the debt a single time. If there had ever been a “surplus” under Clinton the debt would have been reduced, or would have at least remained unchanged from year to year. This “surplus” myth is created by taking certain categories of debt “off budget”...essentially hiding the reality of the increased debt that occured EVERY SINGLE YEAR under Clinton.

Ha, ha. Pretty funny. I've done the same “reply to all” thing and forgot to check exactly who the “all” were. Two or three times these idiot liberals shot back their inane, profanity laced replies with all the same talking points about WMDs or Bush deficits and such. Of course they can't hang with an old FReeper like me when it comes to reality and facts, but that doesn't stop them. You just can't reason with unreasonable morons that refuse any logical, observable truths.

Liberalism is a mental disease, and you are arguing with the insane brainwashed libtards that ARE the Marxists of the past, but are in denial as to their roots.

That is the key. Ask them if what they think of Marxism. They will say they abhor it if they have any sense of history and the 100 million put to death by Marxism in the 20th century. (If not then remind them of that and how that number dwarfs Nazi Germany’s death toll).

Then describe the values and principles of Marxism; Redistribution of wealth (’from each according to their abilities, too each according to their needs’ but in other words), the rights of the government (as if a government can have rights; government has powers) -vs- private property rights, and so on.

Call it what it is, and call them what they are.

Marxists.

The same ideological battle only without a Cold War.

Have you ever noticed how boring it gets carrying on a conversation with a moonbat? Their response to anything is usually some old canned(prerecorded) message that has nothing to do with the current topic. And, by my count, there are now 423 million ex-lifetime-republicans-turned-democrat because some republican guy did or said something horrific.
