- 550 German planes have been destroyed so far in Operation BARBAROSSA with another 336 damaged. This is about 40% of all combat ready aircraft that was available to the Luftwaffe at the beginning of the conflict.
- Kirponos withdraws the headquarters of Kostenko's 26th Army into front reserve ordering it to attack to the northwest to link up with Potapov's 5th Army.
- The German 1st Cavalry Division has lost a total of 2,292 horses since the beginning of the operation BARBAROSSA with only 1,027 captured horses to offset the losses.
- The citadel at Brest finally falls to German forces.
