Actually my 30th anniversary was yesterday - I lost track of time.
By the grace of God, I'm free! A.A. played its part too.
I ain't gonna drink today.
All you former drunks weigh in.

P.S. I didn’t mean to imply I’m “cured”. I’ll be “cured”, when I take my dirt nap but I am still free.

On the 17th, I will celebrate thirty-three years of sobriety. One day at a time, just like everyone else. Praise the Lord!!!

Congrats. I have over 22 years now of making decisions alcohol free. Been sober longer than I drank. It's supposed to a dangerous milestone but I haven't felt the "need" for a drink since the day I checked into rehab and spent the first day in the emergency room hooked up to intravenous bags and getting B-vitamin shots in the rear...
To RobfromGA": still have the AA ping list?

but I haven't felt the "need" for a drink since the day I checked into rehab The psychological dependence for me was tough for a few months and by the end of about 6 months I quit thinking about it.
My wife is a Saint, by the way. I don't know how she put up with me.

Ummmm. Bourbon. Good Well, Bourbon was my drink of choice. I can't/won't drink it but I'm glad you can.
To: Graybeard58
I should have added that I truly believe God took the desire to drink from me on that day. I was on the brink of suicide. It hasn't been all easy except for the desire to drink having been lifted.
The subsequent divorce, bankruptcy, etc. was tough but I had some strong friends in AA that helped me through it.

Congratulations raybbr, I know what you mean about sudden deliveries from sins - I lost my swearing habit all in one day after having it for years.

My congrats to you! Alcoholism runs in my family, and unfortunately, lately, I can’t seem to make it one day. By the grace of God, maybe tomorrow I will.....
