WHY THIS MATTERS POLITICALLY. There are two games Governor Palin is fighting: one is the battle to take control of her political narrative, the other is taking control of her PERSONAL narrative--and this includes everything surrounding her FAMILY.
Having Bristol go on The View is BRILLIANT, and does more for raising Governor Palin's political profile and stature than one may think!
With Bristol giving the whole scoop about the details surrounding her pregnancy, she takes the narrative of the "dirty details" and "dirty secrets" away from the mouths of Levi Johnston and rumor-makers in the press, who would try to use those things to detract from Gov. Palin.
I also like the comments Bristol made contrasting herself and her mother from the high-maintenance, first-class riding McCain women. Total, direct response to those pathetic 2008 rumors about Palin being materialistic and purposefully wanting hundred-thousand dollar wardrobes, about her family being "hillbillies who want the high life" etc...the McCain camp did nothing to defend the Palins against those nasty rumors. Totally deplorable considering how the Palins are the exact opposite of high-maintenance, entitled brats.

Bristol criticizing Baby McCain is one thing, but I’m no fan of negative comments from a 20 year old against Mrs. McCain, a woman old enough to be her mother.
She never outright criticized Mrs. McCain as a person — she just described the reality of the situation: that the Palins do not come from first-class riding, stylist-hiring lifestyle, the way the McCains do. Simple as that, and it’s an important truth to get across as America gets to know its future first family.
I was thinking about what Bristol wrote in the book, particularly the godmother incident. That didn’t seem to be a very nice response by Bristol to what could have been interpreted as a kind gesture from an older lady.

It is very creepy to ask someone you barely know if you can be godmother to their child!!! It is a personal decision that the parents choose. The only reason Cindy McCain wanted to be godmother was to show how “wonderful” she is.
The fact that Cindy is so old is weird too. Usually you pick someone that could possibly raise your child if something happens to you (at least that is how I decided for my own child).
That’s the most I’ve ever heard *God* mentioned on that show.

If the Sarah Palin will be running for prez, Bristol needs to be reined in, and stop flapping her gums and going on these ridiculous television shows. I want a serious president, not some pop culture clown with a poorly behaved family. I call this welfare recipient TV.
Based on her choice of husband, something must be wrong there.
But I don’t think ANY conservative should appear on that panel. A better representation of left-wing bias and vitriol would be hard to find.
If you wanted to get a MOA wristband you had to buy a copy of Trademark Jr's book.
Then, if you still wanted a Sarah Palin(™) autograph you had to have or buy a copy of one of her books too.
Those were the rules.
