A Mexican national was executed Thursday for the rape-slaying of a teenager after the U.S. Supreme Court turned down a White House-supported appeal to spare him in a death penalty case where Texas justice triumphed over international treaty concerns. Humberto Leal, 38, received lethal injection for the 1994 murder of Adria Sauceda. She was fatally bludgeoned with a piece of asphalt. Leal was pronounced dead at 6:21 p.m. EDT (2221 GMT).

I recall a story about the Pharisees who brought a woman that was caught in the act of adultery to Jesus and asked Him if she should be stoned, Jesus replied, “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her”.

At which point, Jesus picked up a big-ass stone, hurled it 60' 6" at the woman, hit her between the eyes, and the Pharisees yelled, "Yer Out" !!!

Lol, both Governor Perry AND the Supreme Court defied Obama’s request. Must be a real downer of a day for him considering the Gunrunner-walker expose too.

Don't forget that Justice Kennedy voted with Justice Scalia on this giant UP YOURS to the Illegal, who, in his SOTU one or two years ago, directly insulted Kennedy before the assembled Congress regarding Kennedy's Citizens United decision. What goes around comes around. It may well come around again when the Court decides the constitutionality of ObamaCare. Payback's a bitch, as the Illegal's beginning to learn.

It’s moronic to put Jesus words in this context. He said “without sin”. Had he said “without murder”, there would be a whole bunch of guys stepping forward.

Now about this “pro-life” and “pro-death penalty” supposed hypocrisy. None of it. Protection of innocent life is not a contradiction to the punishment of a criminal one.

That POS had almost two decades worth of appeals all paid for by the taxpayers of Texas so I do not think contacting the Mexican council when he was arrested would have made any difference.

The point, in this case, is that it would not.

Leal committed a rape [no murder] at the same loaction about a week before. His blood on her body, her blood on his, her bloody clothes in his house, and he confessed to his brother ...

He was the sort of killer of whom there is an exceedingly high probability of him killing again (and he may well have done so ~ we only caught him on this one murder though.)

We celebrate that he will not be allowed to kill his next victim!

BTW, when crazy old Governor Dean first took office he looked into the issue of execution. I suppose he thought he ought to act as Governor to end it (since in 1991 he opposed all capital punishment).

Turned out that he discovered the nature of the people being executed, and as a trained physician he recognized it for what it was ~ and by 1997 he openly supported capital punishment for cop killers and those who kill children.

If he'd been on Casey Anthony's trial she'd be getting prepped for the gurney Fur Shur.

You can read all about it here: http://www.talkleft.com/story/2003/06/15/680/53112

Now that is from a man with no known moral code whatsoever ~

What is being expressed is the result of pent up frustration that this torturer was allowed to live an additional 16 years past the crime. Add on top of that, we have a president engaging in international politics to further delay this murderers justice.

ON the off chance you're not familiar with the details of this case, real justice would have required him dead less than 30 days after the crime.

I am celebrating the triumph of justice, albeit delayed.

I’ve been taken to the wood shed. I still feel kind of uneasy. And back in the old west, I don’t think I’ve participated in a hanging, but I live now not then. I do tell you, I’d love to have lived in that time. Only because the gov was off our backs and we were free to pursue happiness as WE saw fit, and we did take care of our problems quickly.

Adria Sauceda Jan. 27, 1978 -May 21, 1994

Adria was found bludgeoned to death with a rock and left naked on a dirt road after being sexually assaulted with a stick

That is all that anyone needs to know about Humberto Leal
