Supermodel Kate Moss tried to stop military planes bound for Afghanistan from flying over her wedding ceremony and reception, The Sun reported Thursday.
Moss, 37 -- who is now honeymooning on a $16 million superyacht -- wanted to get married without the drone of jets from the Royal Air Force's (RAF) Brize Norton base overhead.
She asked chiefs at the base near her Little Faringdon, central England, home to divert or postpone their flights -- but was politely refused.
HOT SHOTS: Kate Moss
A military source said, "RAF Brize Norton is a fully operational wartime air base. Flights from the base carry troops and vital equipment directly to Afghanistan."
The source added, "These flights are absolutely crucial. The idea that the top military brass would put these flights on hold or change their routes just to give a celeb some peace on their wedding day is absolutely inconceivable. Kate should consider herself lucky she just got a polite refusal."
Mom-of-one Moss' home -- where her three-day reception celebration was held -- is around five miles from the air base. The church where she wed The Kills rocker Jamie Hince, 42, on Friday is also close by.

Oh good God.
We’ll get right on that, sweetie. No prob.
Is this one the anorexic crackhead?
Nothing like a Celb bride-zilla! Should have buzzed her house a couple of times for good measure!
Were it not for those brave Brits going forth into battle, Moss would be flat-backing for Mahmud and Habib!
Yes.
If I were in charge of the air base, I would have given her and estimate of the additional fuel costs and personnel involved with flight diversion. Then I would have told her, “sure Katie, we’ll divert the flights as soon as you actually pay the estimated costs up front and agree to settle any actual versus estimated cost differences within 30 days afterward.”
an employee at my office used to date a firefighter. She asked them to keep their sirens down because they went right by her window every day.
That just made them turn up their sirens all the time in non-emergency moments as well!
“Were it not for those brave Brits going forth into battle, Moss would be flat-backing for Mahmud and Habib!”
With the muzzies pouring into Britain and breeding like rabbits she will be wearing a burqa soon enough.
Screw you, Kate...drugged up celeb douchebag.
I would say this all kind of hinges on the request. If it was along the lines of “If possible, could you alter the route of the planes for a couple of hours” kind of request - no big deal. Request was made and rejected. Heck, can’t hurt to ask.
But if it was “We demand that you stop these flights for the time period of ....” then I would say that she went over the line with the attitude.
Either way, good to see that some parts of the military are more concerned about operations than appearances.
To paraphrase Ms. Moss’s most famous edict:
“Nothing looks as good as stupid sounds.”
Selfish, narcissistic twit, like most hollywood elites.
Silly bimbo should try living near an active SAC base. There’s nothing quite like the sound of a B-52 clawing its way into the sky with a full war-load.
Personally, I would say that no request made was in good taste. No matter how nicely put. She has a choice to get married elsewhere if she doesn’t like it. It says she’s getting married on a 16 million dollar yacht. Sail your 16 million dollar yacht somewhere else if you don’t want to hear the sounds of freedom protecting your crack adled rear end...
Excellent idea!!!!
I am having a problem thinking that someone actually views themself (and their wedding) as being so special, so above “everyone” else... that flights bound to Afghanistan would be stopped. Gee, get over yourself Kate. Shame on you, too. If a flight with brave men and women were headed overhead to Afghanistan... I would say a prayer. Hey, that’s me.
