Silly bimbo should try living near an active SAC base. There’s nothing quite like the sound of a B-52 clawing its way into the sky with a full war-load.

Normal days with the KC-135A and B-52G models were loud enough but a MITO was something to hear and behold.

KC-135A and B-52G: Built when man thought water could burn.

When I was a kid, my church was about a mile from the end of the runway at a SAC base. Nothing like having a reading from Revelation interrupted by by a flight of B-52s carrying a few dozen megatons of armageddon.

Better yet, a KC-135. My first assignment in the AF was at Fairchild AFB, WA. The Buffers' noise was one thing, but the KCs could take it to a new level. And the innate ability to just tune them out over time is amazing.

Living ON a SAC base and hearing those B-52’s running their engines and then taking off one after another was music to our ears. It was almost like a lullaby if you were trying to sleep.

God bless our military and God bless America. To the others who have no clue in this world... too bad!!!

I live just a few miles from Fort Knox and it is a rare day where we don't have tanks, artillery, helicopters, or APC's using the live fire ranges at all hours of the day and night.

We had a 5.6 earthquake a few years ago, but I didn't realize it was a quake until I saw the news a few hours later. I thought it was Knox again.
