Today is the day she may walk free. Prepare yourselves.

Call me Pollyanna, but the Judge did give FingerBoy 6 days. Hopefully he has scoured the law so she can cool her heels a little longer.

“I don’t care about the evidence....”

Finally. I rest my case.

>>No accident results in duct tape covering the mouth and nose of a toddler.<<

But trying to cover up an accident might.

>>No accident results in 31 day delay notifying emergency services.<<

But trying to protect oneself or someone else might.

>>No accident results in a body wrapped in two black garbage bags inside of a laundry bag.<<

But a family trying to cover up for the deeds of one of it’s members may have.

>>No accident results in a body decomposing in the trunk of a car.<<

But indecision about what to do with the body after either a murder or accident cover up might.

My God, even Whorlaldo said that Casey was a good mother.

My definition of good mother would be closer to yours I imagine: Good mothers do not let their kids go missing for 31 days for one thing.

Take a look around at the mall next week. Those people are the jury of your peers.

But, give me a better system and I will go along with it.

Homicide *is* murder.

"Someone trying to cover up. Someone trying to protect someone else. Someone ashamed of what they did or didn’t do. The list could go on but the prosecutors didn’t include charges of covering up a crime so what is the point in speculation? Just another indication of screw ups by prosecution."

No, none of that is *reasonable*. It's "reasonable doubt", not "imaginary doubt". It's not enough to be able to think up some contrived ridiculous imaginary scenarios and call that reasonable doubt.

Excellant discussion the WSJ—both viewpoitns presented and a lot of good discussion

Yeah, Freeper really degenerated here...the WSJ had comments that were VERy impassioned, but not hysterical or name calling.

>>The jury basically said the Casey had nothing to do with the crime.<<

They did NOT. The simply said the state did not prove “beyond a reasonable doubt” that she should be convicted on the charges they persued.

IMHO, we have a system of Law and not a system of Justice. They are mutually exclusive.

That is beautiful and so true!

I am not on the jury. Evidently you were?

You are still arguing the case. Are there other jury cases that were resolved this week in Orlando that you DO agree with? Or should we just run them all by you for a nice reality check?

My definition of justice is that someone be held and punished for their crimes. Justice for the victim so that whoever hurt/killed is held accountable for their actions. In this case, apparently there is no one responsible for the death
so I guess I’m wrong then.

Murder is homicide. Not all homicide is murder.

http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/homicide
Homicide:
The killing of one human being by another human being.

Although the term homicide is sometimes used synonymously with murder, homicide is broader in scope than murder.

Murder is a form of criminal homicide; other forms of homicide might not constitute criminal acts.

These homicides are regarded as justified or excusable.

For example, individuals may, in a necessary act of Self-Defense, kill a person who threatens them with death or serious injury, or they may be commanded or authorized by law to kill a person who is a member of an enemy force or who has committed a serious crime.

Typically, the circumstances surrounding a killing determine whether it is criminal. The intent of the killer usually determines whether a criminal homicide is classified as murder or Manslaughter and at what degree.

Why would anyone try to cover up an accident by making it look like a murder?

Why was this “accident” never revealed for 3 years ?

WHO is thinking about 15 min. of fame? If you are talking about Richard Grund, his interview was with the police and was given months ago.

FWIW, Richard Grund is a minister who is the father of Casey’s former fiance. He knew her during and after her “engagement” to his son and tried to counsel the couple. He always suspected something wrong with Casey. He picked out that she was pregnant when his son did not even believe it. He counseled them (successfully) to not live together before marriage. He tracked Casey (and her cheating on his son) on Face Book. He knew how desparate Casey was to move out of the Anthony home.

I apologize. You were referring to the I-dot walking around with a sign expressing a marriage proposal to Casey. Your comment was perfectly appropriate! LOL

No, I meant the idiot who proposed marriage, not the Grund family. Sorry for the confusion.

He counseled them (successfully) to not live together before marriage.

I have to smile because he said he told them that if they lived together, he would not perform the ceremony. And Jesse listened. :) I like that.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/casey-anthonys-hair-discussed-widely-208757

Casey's mother, Cindy, was overhead in the courtroom saying, “She looks so beautiful.”

Her father, George, replied, “Yeah, her hair looks longer.” Anthony wore her hair pulled back for every day of her trial, where she was accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

The Orlando Sentinel noted that she appeared relaxed, and her attorneys Cheney Mason and Dorothy Clay Sims, were "smiling and stroking her hair before the hearing began."
