LIBERTY, Texas (AP) — More than a dozen men accused of taking part in a series of sexual assaults on an 11-year-old girl are expected in court Wednesday in a case that has divided and horrified their southeast Texas town.
The 14 men, who along with five juvenile boys are facing charges, are scheduled to be in a state district courtroom in Liberty for status updates. The investigation began in December, after one of the girl's friends told a teacher he had seen a lurid cell phone video that showed the girl being raped in an abandoned trailer.
Authorities say the girl was assaulted on at least five occasions, sometimes by as many as seven or eight young men or boys at a time, from mid-September to early December in Cleveland, a small city about 45 miles northeast of Houston. The suspects range in age from a middle-school student to a 27-year-old, and include two star athletes at the local high school as well as adults with criminal records.

It is rape by law, not just “wrong”. An underage child cannot give legal consent. That she “was out asking for it” if true is very disturbing, because something is clearly, clearly wrong with her and her family situation. But legally it is rape, forced or not.
At least they got caught, that’s the only thing good here. Just sickening. And filming it. Who knows what to say anymore.
Huffington post, of all sources, had the balls to tell the truth. all of the suspects are black. see the link in my OP comment. furthermore, the predominantly black neighborhood where they came from is already crying racism at the police because they had the audacity to arrest a bunch of black men for multiple counts of rape that was not only video taped bu which also occurred in front of countless witnesses over the course of several weeks.
I kind of figured that when I saw that she had met them on 5 occasions.
More a case of mass stupidity, than anything else.
Certainly the men should and probably will, be found guilty of statutory rape, since there is no law against being terminally stupid,they cannot be charged otherwise.
The guilty always play the race card... It does not work most of the time.

In other words, “Mexican” and “Russian” are nationalities. “Hispanic” and “Caucasian” are races. One does not guarantee the other. We can know the child’s race, but her nationality is not stated in the linked article.
