hese amazing pictures from the United States show a wall of dust moving through the city of Phoenix in Arizona. Sandstorms like this happen during the region's monsoon season, which is underway. They occur over desert land and can reach thousands of feet into the air, spurred by strong winds. The dense cloud dramatically reduced visibility, grounding flights at a major airport and leaving thousands without electricity.

I saw a wall of dirt like that near Lamesa in 1987 or so. It was on the day that the tornado hit Saragosa. It was strange because all of the rattlesnakes were coming out on the road in broad daylight.
Yep, we’ve been having them here since I was a kid.....long time ago. They happen every year. You really don’t want to be driving in one of them.
Ha, I’ve been here for 30 years and for the first time last night I heard that word on the TWC.
Sirocco
It was insane. I could smell the dust inside my house.
RFain would make mud at this point
What’s amazing, is that somehow we made it through those dark days.
;^)
Lot’s & lot’s of rain.....this place is a wreck!
Yes, every weather oddity now has to have an agenda. Tornadoes, floods, hurricanes, dust storms, etc. Whenever there are more than normal or less than normal, somehow my barbeque grill and lawnmower caused it.
I’m near Arcadia and there is dirt everywhere, which then got a sprinkle of rain on top... just enough to turn the stuff to concrete. My dog thinks it’s delicious though. She’s been licking it off the sidewalk. Weirdo.
No damage here. Just a lawn chair swept across the front yard.
Do the folks in Phoenix realize that, when snow melts, it becomes liquid WATER.
It looks a lot worse than it is. I was driving into one of these storms and just pulled off on a side road to wait it out. Later a change of air filter and wait till the next one.
It just wouldn’t be the same if my personal trainer Urethra ever changed her surname to “Seasonal Thunderstorm.”
Yes, I believe it is your grill. ;^) It’s not mine.
I love it when they game some natural event to claim we’re having more because of global warming, warning we should expect many more in our near future, then there are none for the next five years.
Then you just stand back and watch their heads explode.
Tell me you are joking. Urethra? That’s as bad as the twins Laurine and Urine.
LOL
Sure. That's when the Salt River gets water in it. That is, it "floods."
≤}B^)
Gag me...
When I saw them do that, I looked at my wife and said, “Ha, that Boob is an idiot.”
Given the natural forces involved, I think they tend to implode.
