Good morning to all.
I thought I would get this thread up bright and early so I could concentrate on work until the trial begins. I believe it starts at 9:00 a.m. today.
The State is presenting its important rebuttal case, which will include two Gentiva representatives, one of which will likely be a custodian of records. That person would need to authenticate Cindy's time sheets, which were subpoenaed. The State plans to admit that evidence to impeach her testimony that it was she, and not Casey, who did the computer searches on chloroform. The chloroform searches go directly to premeditation, a critical element in a death penalty case.
I understand that closing arguments will be heard Saturday (tomorrow) and then the jury will "get deliberated." (I love saying that!)
Time to put on a big pot of coffee...
Look at it this way. There are people who actually STILL think ZERO is a good Pez. ALL EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY.
It is called a brain freeze.
My husband and I were making predictions on how long the jury would be out deliberating on this case. He said a week, I said 2 days because they are tired and want to go home!
“finger boy friday” ROFL....perhaps they should rename his former place of business that way too!
As 2d chair, he is REQUIRED to do everything Lead dictates.
His only alternative is to request to resign the case, and there is no way Perry would let him out at this time.
Yep, predators!
BTW, re: Mason’s age, as you know, I am a “last half of the 60” old fart!
:)
Be well.
OMG her sister was in jail with Casey. Just tooo coincidental.
Doesn’t surprise me. Listening to her is awful.
This woman has a skank sister con woman too.
Does this woman strike you as the type who has thousands of dollars lying around? She looks like she doesn’t know where her next meal is coming from.
I’ve watched some of the TRUtv/HLS coverage but here’s a link for super coverage streaming one of our local stations

There wan’t any proof or Baez would have presented it. I don’t even know why Baez called her to the stand to begin with. He keeps grasping at straws.
I think that Baez rested his case and was ready to go to closing and verdict. It is Ashton who thinks he is losing. For the state to go in to extensive rebuttal is done because the State is scared that their case in chief was ruined by the defense. There is no other reason for it. I think Ashton has a good reason to be scared. He has been trying to prove theories of a Bungled investigation that a really bad lawyer like Baez has shot full of holes.
Giraldo makes me so mad......and Baez has pulled every trick in the book to shake this trial....
...I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the finger boy was a plant by Baez.....(ie, I'll pay you to disrupt the trial)
I'm only about an hour from this courthouse, btw.....and the trial is on ALL the local news stations...
...with folks talking it up in the supermarkets and wherever they meet.
Baez is not well liked around here.
I think you probably shouldn’t use vodka to moisten your cornflakes.
I can’t imagine anyone believing her!
Not on that particular case. But the last time I served - maybe 17 years ago - we had a hung jury because of one stubborn juror and one Korean-American who refused to believe in the 5th amendment. Afterwards, we found out the defendant had a loooooooooooooong criminal history and we all felt horrible that we didn’t convict and that the guy would be tried again - all at taxpayers’ expense.
What I remember most about this was that the jury was the worst group of humans one could be locked up with for more than one day. I went home and had a major cry and haven’t served since.
The only reason she was crying is because Aston was verbally beating the truth out of her mouth. She knew she wasn’t going to hold up under that scrutiny.
I don’t even think George had an affair with her. I believe she tried and failed. That is why she is so angry now.
If it were just George in this River Cruz thing I’d agree...I would not believe her for a minute. But IF Cindy were involved...like pushing George to find some background on River Cruz to see if she could be used to help her beloved Casey in the way of being the nanny...
Well when you bring Cindy into the picture everything changes whether it is a computer search, cleaning the car, or what a skank says in court. JMO.
In my opinion, the defense has nothing so they have to grasp at straws. They have to hope there is someone who hates law enforcement enough that they distrust them and have no ability to pay attention to details.
