Yep. For folks in that part of the world, “no snake no good” is spot on. They don’t have the luxury of wondering about that. Antivenom may not be an option for them... They treat everything as bad.

My wife hates snakes. Hates them on a visceral level. When she was a kid on Leyte, a cobra surprised her one day while she walked back to the house. She had a stick and went to work on him. He was standing, hood flared, making noises, and she beat the thing to death. I saw the remains of a 10” garter snake that she found in the greenhouse. It wouldn’t fill a teaspoon.
I hear ya teacher, lots of misconceptions about these animals.
Personally, I would not keep a ‘hot’. That is because I like to handle my snakes, including my >8’ Yellow Anaconda.
It is unfortunate for this guy that he was bitten and died, but when you play that fire that hot........

This “conservationist” was “giving back.”
For some reason the “powers that be” removed my original comment at the start of the thread.
Basically I stated that the Left is co-opting the word “conservation” as their new name since “environment” “environmentalist” and “environmentalism” have been so discredited.
Our parents and grandparents (and those they taught about land conservation) are conservationists.
People like this deceased snake “conservationist” are liberals who don’t know what they are talking about — and it shows.

The Mod’s options must have been limited to deleting the post because he couldn’t edit it if you had a picture in it or mentioned the LA Slimes since he changed the source to the UK Telegraph. Your words sound as if they were innocuous enough, so it must have been something like that.
