This is where I get to say “he died doing what he loved.”

     Bleeding from the eyeballs.

LOL
King Cobra bites are nasty.

They do have cobras in the Philippines. When I was a kid, they had to remove a large one from my neighbor’s house.

Boas in the wild are a bit more aggressive aren’t they.

Yes, I do not doubt that cobras are here among the 7107
islands, but I do not know personally of any encounters
with them, even though my girlfriend thinks they are in the mountains just above us on Cebu.

Good. One less moron on Earth is never a bad thing.

They are definitely not an endangered species, although they seem to think everything else is.

If you are described as a “Snake Lover”, you’re doing it wrong!

Well, I guess this would be a better way to go than the Alaska wildlife author who was eaten by a Grizzly Bear.

"Walt Disney Syndrome."

Yup. An apt description. I had to learn the hard way that wild means wild. Such critters don't want to play with you, and they don't make good pets. During my time in Nigeria, I was talking with a local in a small compound one day when suddenly a great commotion broke out. 20 - 30 men had formed a large circle out on the roadway, and were beating the snot out of a huge snake. Yelling and screaming, dust and dirt, sjamboks and knobkerries flying everywhere. I asked the local "good snake or bad?" (venemous or no?). He frowned and responded "no snake good snake!" Good enough for me.

They aren't dogs, you know? You were mad to think that you could have that kind of relationships with snakes.

The same could be said about Democrats...

“These king cobras know...

Cobras do not know anything. They are reptiles! They operate on instinct and their instinct is to strike and bite!

Feel sorry for that man but, dang!

That guy was an idiot not to inure himself to cobra venom like the fakirs do in India. It’s not that they never get bitten, it’s just that their bodies are used to the venom. Death is a high price to pay for such carelessness.

I lived in Subic Bay at the time, and it was a neighborhood event. I was able to go over before the authorities came because it was my best friend’s house, and had a chance to peek in at it.

It was a damned big snake, if it was a cobra (as everyone later said) it was big and black or dark, dark brown, all coiled up in a corner of their porch. It was (and is) the biggest non-constrictor snake I have ever seen...
