I use mine for about a month before I toss em.
Not because they are dull but just because I think it’s time for a new blade.

Damn, so much for original thought.
Most razors come with a plastic cap to put on the razor for travel, why not dry your the blades and use that?

Ive been using the Gillette Fusion blades and I find that I can get about three weeks from one blade.......
I agree. Thought they were a gimmick with all the blades and such. But it is a darn good shave and lasts long. The razor head pivots easily and prevents nicks.
The razor also has one blade on the reverse side for trimming sideburns.

For a really clean shave, there’s always the gas grill method.

I just use my superior mental powers to focus on them not growing any...

I go to BJ's warehouse, by a whole contain of "good news" razors - there must be a hundred of them in a plastic box - use a new one about once a week.
Like a $20 Timex watch...use it until it wears out, and then replace it...it's too cheap for ongoing maintenance and repair.

Disposables are disposable. If you want durable, get a straight razor.

A welding torch not only removes the hair follicle below the skin line, but also avoids those unpleasant razor nicks.
(...and Mrs. Lucky thinks it improves my looks.)

"Most razors come with a plastic cap to put on the razor for travel, why not dry your the blades and use that?" Because if the blade is not completely dry, that cap will actually trap moisture and accelerate corrosion.
Another thing you can try in lieu of alcohol is acetone. I've been a single guy for quite a few years now, but still keep a bottle of nail polish remover on my counter top. It's an incredible dessicant and is good for cleaning up leather dye, epoxy etc. I suspect it would be even better than alcohol at drying off razor blades although it would have to be used sparingly lest it damage the plastic, rubber and lubrication strips on the blade.
