May God also bring her some common sense so that in the future she doesn't allow her remaining dog to run loose on the bank of a canal filled with alligators. Geez, ya mean Florida has alligators in the canals? Who knew? :)

There is a legal question here. If the dog was illegally off the leash, should the gator have been prosecuted and then executed.

The are lots of precedents always used by insurers to defend clients that run over dogs. If the dog was running astray, it was in violation and the dog’s owner is liable, not the driver.

The owner is liable, not the gator. The gator was killed in vain.
