60 more companies take jobs, work out of California
Orange County Register ^ | 6-17-11 | Jan Norman

Through June 16, 129 California companies have moved jobs, work and/or headquarters out of state, says Irvine business relocation expert Joe Vranich, who has been tracking what he calls "disinvestment events" for three years. That is 60 more since his last round-up April 15.

On average, 5.4 businesses are moving jobs, work and/or headquarters out of California each week, compared to 3.9 such moves per week in 2010, Vranich says.

Regulations and taxes are driving record numbers of businesses and jobs out of California. The politicians and bureaucrats are in denial about their role in this.

Gone to Texas? (And isn't that the title of the novel that the movie The Outlaw Josey Wales is based on?)

“The Outlaw Josey Wales”, one of the best westerns ever made and one of my favorite movies. And yes that was the title.

There are quite a few fans of that movie on FR.
A couple years ago we had a discussion about how many times Josey spit on the dog. Lots of great lines in the movie too” “Vow to endeavor to preserve”, is one of my favorites.
Great acting all around, especially by John Vernon who played Fletcher.

the recent governor’s race was the narrative of the “oppressed” latina vs the “oppressor” rich gringo and capitalism.

californicate patio lizards chose the former and high taxes and excessive regulations against business.

How To Get Rid Of Obama For Good

Unless we are facing imminent threat from a foreign aggressor, Americans will vote in national elections on the basis of the state of the economy. Inflation is a major factor in this, but the most important issue is jobs. Unemployment is now chronically high.

We all now know that Obama is a socialist and his intent is to expand government at the expense of private enterprise. We also know that government never generates capital. It only consumes wealth; never creates it. We also know that the single greatest aspect of the economy affecting how people vote is employment. If I have had my job eliminated, my hours cut back, have been furloughed from my job, or am about to lose my job, I am more likely to vote against Obama and his big-government socialists.

Small and mid-sized businesses know that higher corporate taxes and government regulation, which Obama loves, destroys our free market system of prosperity. Small and mid-sized business owners know that the Obama administration must be defeated in 2012. Their contributing to the elections of those who run against Obama is not enough, however.

The best way for business to insure the defeat of Obama is for them to begin now to voluntarily cut back their employment rolls - even if it means temporarily sacrificing their companies’ profitability. Putting people out of work temporarily in order to insure Obama’s defeat in 2012 will mean a healthier business climate in the years to come. Once we get government off the backs of business and the working middle class of this country, we will be on better footing to grow our economy once again. The removal of Obama is the beginning of a long-term solution to our economic depression.

It might sound like a draconian measure to lay people off in order to insure Obama’s defeat, but let’s face it Obama is out to destory our country and we are in dire straits. What’s needed, as in time of war, are drastic measures.

In the past, when our country was under a threat from external forces, men (and now women) have been called upon to leave their normal means of employment to join the armed forces to insure the security of our nation for our families and posterity.

Now our country is under a different kind of threat - a threat from within - a threat from our own government which has hijacked our Constitution and has concentrated power in the hands of a few elitists. The threat is no less real than when our enemies have been external to us.
So the call for all of us to make sacrifices in a time of war is no extreme measure but is patriotic. And just as in a time of war when families, communities, friends and churches pull together to get through the crisis, so this should be the same response to those who find themselves out of work. If we all pull together, in the end our collective security will be insured and that of our children as well. Obama must not be re-elected for the good of all.

Yes I remember that one too.

One other line:

Wales, Well just when I get to liking someone they not around

Chief Dan George, Well I noticed that when you don’t like someone they are not around either.

Not exact quotes I am doing this from memory.

Some trivia about the movie: John Russel played Bloodly Bill Anderson in the Outlaw Josey Wales also played Marshall Stockbrige in the Pale Rider. John Russel starred in the Lawman, a TV series in the late 50’s that also starred Peter Brown.

You sound like a retired person who doesn’t work for a living... What you’re suggesting is exactly what the Left accuses us conservatives of being; greedy selfish capitalist robber barons with no concern for the common man.

Obama is bad, him being president until 2016 is unthinkable for me. However I don’t think very many Freepers would agree that throwing the poor & middle-class families to the wolves in order to engineer his defeat is at all a moral proposition.

Someone ought to tell the idiots and thieves who are destroying California that when it comes to making a living: dying ain’t much of a living.

"The politicians and bureaucrats are in denial about their role in this."

I think that one of the problems is that there is no forceful way of bringing this information to the notice of the politicians, The Democrat idiot majorities that run California are in total denial and there is no way to convince them of their complicity in the cause of the problem and thus ti change their ways. With Brown as Governor, 2011 sure looks like popcorn time!

On the other hand, if I am a Democrat with a negative IQ, I I would vote for Jerry Brown and Obozo and more Democrat 'help' such as permanent unemployment pay, welfare, free medical etc., etc., etc. Then I would sit on my a*@e and do nothing while the companies keep moving out and you work to support me - Sucker!

[The politicians and bureaucrats are in denial about their role in this.]

They are not!

They just went to Texas to see why business is leaving California. Then, promptly returned home and increased their taxes to improve “infrastructure” (Bike paths, paved foot trails and parkways) and force remaining business to convert to “Green” technology.

Like, fer sher man, who in their right minds would want to leave such a paradise? It's crazy dude! Texas is a dump and environmental waste land!

Besides, who needs jobs anymore? They are so out of style...

So you support small businesses hiring more employees to please Prince Bama? Even though they can’t scrape up enough money to pay for healthcare? Even though they don’t have a clue what their tax liability will be next year? They should do it out of the goodness of their hearts because people are hurting and not because it make business sense?

Do you think that defeating Obama is essential to the survival of our nation? Our concern for the common man entails sinking the Marxists that are steering us for the rocks. Once the evil is purged with liberties and freedoms restored, the common man will be in a much better position to flourish. As will new businesses and entrepreneurs flourish.

The only way to solve this is to raise taxes on the companies that are left. Well, that’s what they’ll do. Just watch.

The politicians and bureaucrats are in denial about their role in this.

The majority of California voters are also in denial. That's why Boxer is still Senator, and Brown is Governor. It's why Democrats still control the state legislature, even though they refuse to fix the problem.
