In my opinion this site is much less active than it was in the early days.

During the Clinton era, this site was a major thorn in the Clinton's butt. We were taking out full page ads during the early days of impeachment. We did stuff to combat what we were seeing. In hindsight the Clinton's weren't that bad, in comparison.

Should we be doing more?

What’s with all the deleted comments?

LOL! Those are the ones that really intrigue me. Sometimes I'll notice a post that responds to the deleted one and try to figure it out. Usually doesn't work but I lead a dull life. Ha!

Go, Sarah!!! That'll perk things up!!

There are some macro trends which are harming the GOP.

“Free trade”, once a solid conservative issue - now is damaging America.

Very solid conservatives like Rush, continue to believe in free trade, despite growing evidence it’s helping Communist China FAR more than America. George Bush was about free trade. Major corporations, traditionally conservative allies - are about “free trade”. Yet that bulwark issue is now damaging our nation.

Thing is, “free trade” isn’t helping America. Helping America is the most conservative of all values.

While this dichotomy continues, there will be conflict and angst on our side.

The sooner we figure out how to resolve that, the better.

You wrote: “Yes, the Clintons were that bad.”

You are exactly right. Clinton and his success at defining deviancy down, both Clintons, in fact, paved the way for the Obamas and Anthony Weiner, Barney Frank, and the rest of the boys. The fact that Bill Clinton was not REMOVED, but rescued by the Senate and a compliant media, is a travesty of justice. . and the fact that he’s a “respected” elder statesman, while a young subordinate woman’s life was scarred and ruined is an absolute disgrace. (He walks into a room, and knows he’s a joke, but his fawning Democrat glee club keeps on worshipping at the Clinton altar.)

Loved "Surrender Gorethy"!

I also remember when not closing html tags would affect all subsequent comments. ("Italians be gone" aka "italics")

I was a long time lurker here, many years before I posted anything.

I registered for an account here on FR at the Republican State Convention in 2001 or 2002. The election cycle when Rick Perry was first elected to Governor (not with Bush).

I had a little difficulty getting that sign-up to work and never posted anything. This is not my first screen name, but there were no posts with the first name.

This is my favorite place on the web.

the site looks eerily similar to the one that existed in 1998

Is that a bad thing?
