During the Clinton era, this site was a major thorn in the Clinton's butt. We were taking out full page ads during the early days of impeachment. We did stuff to combat what we were seeing. In hindsight the Clinton's weren't that bad, in comparison.
Should we be doing more?
God speed. I’m outa here.
LOLOLOL. Good on you!
I don’t mind what my sweet, young gal does at all. The much younger girl she had planned to take to her show ditched her at the last minute, so of course I went with her! She didn’t do anything radical to me, and the semi-permanent feathers are fine with me. My husband didn’t even notice them until we were outside and then he said “oh your hair sparkles like sort of a rainbow!”
Worse than that was when somebody changed the font and forgot to close the tags. Good Grief! What a mess. Geeez!
I screwed up so often, that I wouldn’t return for days at a time...lol.
OOh .. I thought you meant your HAIR was also pink and purple in places .. LOL. Few feathers aren’t bad. Do you feel you have to be color coordinated and match your clothes, too? That’s the only thing I’d be wondering.
Oh heck no! The feathers are in the very blonde part and they’re interesting in length, colors and texture! The two distinct colors of hair are also interesting...lol... but somehow it blends very nicely, while still remaining distinctly separate. I like it! DrO does, too. Amazing, huh?
BUMP!!
Heard about another book .. ?

Letting the Media Do Our Thinking: An Excerpt from Bring Her Down
My book, Bring Her Down: How the American Media Tried to Destroy Sarah Palin, has just been released. The following is adapted from Chapter 7 of the book.
###
In the event of a possible Palin presidential run, it remains to be seen whether the media can pull off the same act with the same success twice. At first glance it would seem obvious that they can, because of the head start theyve already given themselves.
To a large extent, theyve already made her into a political punchline. Millions of voters would be coming to this hypothetical race with a set of preconceptions about Palin that would be very hard to shake.
There are thoseincluding many conservativeswho insist that Palin can never run for national office again because she was so effectively Dan Quayled by the media. Its an image, they argue, that cant be overcome.
Theres something unsettling, though, about the idea that any politicianor any personshould resign himself or herself to being defined for all time by what the media says, particularly by the kind of grotesque caricature they created of Sarah Palin.
In a way its even worse than the Its her own fault meme that was used against her so many times: when her e-mail account was hacked, when her children were mocked, and so on.
That meme at least assumed that she had a little bit of control over her own fate; the She got Quayled and thats it meme suggests that the best thing that a political candidate damaged by the media can do is bow her head meekly and submit to her ordained fate.
On the other hand, in the process of creating those preconceptions, the media may have unwittingly thrown a few advantages Palins way
Rest
Agree 100%. It's spartan in a good way. Somebody smart once said the highest sophistication is simplicity, and FR's forum software is a great example of that. I have never encountered a forum that was as user friendly and efficient as FR's, and many that were far worse. Just basic functionality like 'pings' and 'view replies' puts it head and shoulders above most others.
Just loverly ... ;)
Yes - ‘Snugs,’ / Eleanor - thanks!
She had the best GWB photos - I’m not aware of how that was. Were they published on a website and she gathered them all and posted here?
Sort of unfortunately, I don’t do Facebook - - -
How nice that you had Christmas packages from her.
There has to be more ink on this brave woman than any other in such a short span of time!
‘_____sparkles like sort of a rainbow.’
Very cool!
About a year ago I had these colorful ‘threads’ - just 3 - sort of woven into my ‘do,’ and it lasted thru many washings! They were subtle, but eye-catching at the right angle. I’ve got to ask ‘Arlene’ to do that again!
It’s neat to ‘decorate’ hair a bit.
Rather do that then get a tatoo - - - NEVER!
Am going to opening night Tues. of ‘Les Mis’ in L.A. - and plan on wearing my black feathers!
I can hear it now - one of you FR’ers will be there, also!!!
I gotta go and listen to Jackie Evencho singing on a local PBS (sorry . . .) station. She is a sweetheart - the voice a Gift from God.
Ha! I’ll barely be off my plane! Can’t make it, sorry...lol. NEVER a tattoo! Hair stuff and colors are A-OK with me. I don’t do anything radical. Too darn old for that! You have the best time Tuesday night!
I was there! Woo hoo!
‘_the best time Tues. night.’
Okay - the PBS show with young Jackie, is on a break now.
Thanks, I will going with our daughter, Jackie, her husband, and their 12 year old daughter... Daughter Jackie’s girls have been taught good ol’ Broadway show tunes for some years now - they’re also home schooled.
This is the 4th year Jackie will take about 18 home school kids in early July, and for 1 week, 3 hours daily, will take them thru songs and choreography, and they will put on 3 performances that week-end - in their backyard! Kids do costumes and makeup.
It’s called ‘Backyard Broadway!!!’
Many kids want to participate, but will have to wait - - - can only accomodate so many.
Two of my grandkids are coming in from CO to participate with their aunt and cousins this summer!
