They could always use an electric BBQ, and not have the oven roasted ribs (as proffered in the article). Still I have mixed feelings over the subject in any event.

How many brush fires have been started by outdoor grilling in that county?

If you have been through a fire, you will have no problem complying with this ban and I am sure with a ban on fireworks as well.

I have had two small fires get away from me amd I certainly would comply. Man they move fast in Texas.

Fire up the George Foreman Grill and save Texas.
As someone who lost my family homestead during a drought-spread fire I see where they are coming from.

Just curious, how many wildfires are started by a grill? Gas or charcoal?

I can undertand it...it’s so freaking dry. One small accident or spark could get out of hand.
As a conservative I wouldn’t do it on my own and hate that government needs to waste our tax money monitoring morons. Whom they subsidize. Oh man, we are screwed.
I’m also smart enough to monitor my fire, but I wouldn’t start one if it was that bad. My choice, not the overlords. And if I damage others then I’m sued. I know, I know it sounds too simple but it really is. No amount of laws will stop the moron from burning down a neighborhood.
Freedom is difficult when idiots are involved.

This has been an ongoing issue in Texas for some time now. (state and local park bans on ANY kind of flame including smoking, etc.)
A couple of years back we started 4 fires shooting fireworks on the 4th. We had prepositioned water hoses and buckets of water so, putting out the flames would be easy.
If the wind is blowing this 4th, we might have to take more extreme measures.
