Has anyone applied for a passport recently? Traveling with wife and daughter late July and am wondering how long it will take them to get theirs. Thanks.

I got mine about 1.5 months ago. I was on the border of having enough time to get it before my trip to Taiwan so I expedited it just to make sure. I applied on Friday and got it next Thursday.

Summer always takes longer due to increased travel demand. Took less than 4 weeks to renew in January. You can pay top dollar for expedited processing if you are concerned about meeting your travel deadline.

I just renewed mine, after 2 years of letting it lapse. It took about 3-4 weeks to get the new one. The neighbor across the street said it took 4 weeks for his first one.

It is worth the few $ to get expedited processing.

I and my wife got ours inside of a week.

Thanks all. They took their time submitting applications but paid expedite fees so we should be good.

My dad got a Canadian passport in 2.5 hours at the Vancouver passport office. We were amazed. And it only took that long because they had to make multiple phone calls to track down some of his references.

Pay extra and get it expedited; mine took two days.

Sent my renewal 2 weeks ago - mailed it for standard processing. No sign of it yet and they have not cashed the check. I am hoping to make a July 3 trip to Santiago.

Wife and I are SUPPOSED to go to Ireland for our 25th wedding anniversary. I have my passport since I used to routinely fly to Europe for business. She applied for hers two weeks ago, and was told it’d take 3-6 weeks.

Why not just send them in now, so you know you’ll have them back?
