Chris Matthews: Not Since Abraham Lincoln Has Someone 'Caused' Strife Like Sarah Palin

According to Chris Matthews, Sarah Palin is the most divisive figure since Abraham Lincoln "caused" the Civil War. In an odd historical analogy, the Hardball host marveled at Palin's bus tour: "Leading off tonight, civil war on the right. Not since the election of Abraham Lincoln has a Republican caused such a war."

The anchor frothed, "Sarah Palin went right to New Hampshire, serving as a human grenade, blowing up his announcement by saying Romney's health care is a total violation of Tea Party beliefs."

Bachman and Palin are quite a lovely pair

Good choice of words.

I listen to Fox radio on the internet M thru F. Brian Killmead, John Gibson and the guy who subbed for Gibson today. They seem to be pushing Mitt and they rarely remember to mention Cain.

As much as I like FOXNEWS, they do seem to be part of the Government/Media Complex; I like Herman Cain, but also like Col. Allen West, and of course Palin and Bachman; it'll be interesting to follow the Republican primary!

Matthews says a lot of dumb things, but this one retires the diamond-studded gold belt.

The Left is selecting the GOP candidate early this time.

“Bachmann ... self made”

Why so you say she’s self made? I simply don’t know that much about her.

I don't know . . . do you think she's had to use affirmative action or government handouts to be successful? I doubt it.

The left seems to be on the Romney bandwagon; Sarah scares them as is evidenced by Chrissy's outburst.

“Sarah Palin is the most divisive figure since Abraham Lincoln”

I don’t think so. Voters have differing opinions about her but there’s not hate or fear. You don’t see protesters at her gatherings.

She’s extremely threatening to some media personalities and politicians and they are making a lot of noise trying to shut her down.

Meanwhile most voters are glad she’s in the fight. She’s a persion with interesting ideas and the ability to express them well. She’s worth listening to.

Unless they’re on the same ticket.

Doesn’t matter how badly Bachmann is off-the-cuff, Biden is always worse.

And M.B. doesn’t work for foreign interests as both Biden and Zero do.

People said that about Obama and how divided our country is since he has been in office. Now here is Chrisy pretending to be original by saying this about Palin. Who is NOT even the President.

Matthews is ignorant, of course.

Palin is not like Lincoln. When it comes to the central moral question of our day she actually parallels Stephen A. Douglas.

Matthews served in the United States Peace Corps in Swaziland from 1968 to 1970 as a trade development adviser.

And Romney served as a mormon missionary to France to evade the same war. Not a lot of difference between the two of them.

Wait, wasn’t Barry supposed to be the new “Lincoln”? Or some such clap trap.

Thats pretty good company.

Absolutely. Palin being compared to Lincoln isn't bad at all from a publicity perspective.
