Following are excerpts from an interview with recently resigned Al-Jazeera TV journalist Ghassan Bin Jiddu, which aired on Al-Dunya TV on May 19, 2011:
Ghassan Bin Jiddu: You just mentioned Sheik Osama Bin Laden. Regardless of what we think about Sheik Osama Bin Laden, or about what Al-Qaeda did in the United States… I am among those who never concealed their objection to the attack against New York and Washington in the United States. I was not ashamed to express my opinion from the every first moment.
But to kill Sheik Osama Bin Laden and treat him in this manner?! This is an affront to any Arab and any Muslim. Is it conceivable to kill a person this way, and then say that his body was dumped in the sea?! Have we no sense of Arab honor? With all due respect – and I am not interfering in Saudi Domestic affairs – he was a Saudi national! You would expect Saudi Arabia… Even if you consider him to be a terrorist, a criminal, and an arch-murderer – call him as you may – he was a Saudi national.
How can you accept that such a man, a sheik leading an important movement, is dumped in the sea this way?! Is this conceivable?

Now: if we had wrapped him in bacon, stuffed him into a Howitzer and shot him into a distant pool full of boiling hog fat, well - that might have been an "affront to Arabs". But I'll bet you could have sold a lot of tickets.
I hope that all of the A-Rabs feel the same, because Bin Laden did not deserve anything construed as decent or proper. Hope his body was smeared with pig’s blood!

...And I’m totally OK with that! The entire militan Islam culture should do the world a favor and drink bleach.
Bin Laden was treated a lot better than his henchmen treated the passengers in 4 airplanes, plus the people in the trade centers and the Pentegon. But then these arabs leave their countries and slide into the Western world and try to change the West into the crumby, killing places places they left.

Jihadists commit a religious act when they commit their murder against non-Muslims. They believe they will receive favorable treatment by their deity at the time of their death and thereby be rewarded in their version of “paradise”.
Should the jihadist be defiled or religiously unclean at the time of his act, his act cannot please his deity and he will be rejected.
Since acts of jihad are religious acts the only way to deter them is to undermine their religious value. This can be done by making the remains of the jihadist unclean. When jihadist remains are treated with Muslim-compliant respect, that only reassures future jihadists that the authorities will help ensure their “sacrifice” (in which others are injured and die) will be successful. Showing respect is counterproductive in the worse way.
The best public policy is to visibly treat jihadist’s remains in a manner that leaves not doubt they are defiled in a Islamic context. The message should be: if you want to commit an act of jihad, we will make sure you don’t make it to your paradise.
The only thing we should have done differently before dumping Bin Laden’s corpse in the ocean would have been to not have any religious ceremony performed. In order to successfully war against jihadists we must be willing to commit what they call “affront”. We only lose when we don’t “affront”.

It would have been fitting to disect BinLaden’s body parts and distribute them among families of his murder victims.

Exactly. Unfortunately, many Americans don’t think of Obama as being a replacement for Osama, and they will rally in support of Obama when the Islamists act indignant.

I am concerned that Islamist “reporters” will provide cover for him by acting indignant over the killing of “Osama”. This will cause some Americans to rally round Obama and ignore his actions against American interests.

Correct. Case in point.
1. Recall how the Pakistani’s were indignant at US troops entering their lands and killing bin Laden. When in fact, they were holding OBL for us and were handsomly paid for their services.
2. Recall the Hamas reaction last week after BHO threw Israel under the bus. They “condemned” Obama’s speech. Yeah right.
