Give a look at Herman Cain. Straight shooting, non politician with good ideas and business experience.
Actually, a deep dish Godfather’s pizza topped with Italian sausage would be awesome right about lunchtime. Wish they had one in Detroit!
You are right ,but some folks insist he is unknown because the outlets they happen to watch ignore him or list him as a long shot or second tier. Other outlets take him very seriously however.
These national polls of “registered Republican” are totally meaningless now. Polls of active Republicans in a few key states are much more meaningful, and since SC, he has soared in all of those.
He may fade of course, but he would do doggoned well if the Iowa Caucuses were today - or in a SC primary today — at which time he would be instantly known nationwide.
I don't get the argument that nobody knows him. Before Palin was picked I knew zero about her. If she came up and kissed me on the street I would not have known her. I know much more about Cain, at this point.
The media have not figured out how they're going to attack him, yet. But once the do, his will be a household name.
I don’t know what Larry’s problem is. I didn’t know there was a “proper” way to make a posting and unless he is the guy in charge I think we’d all appreciate that he keep his mouth shut. Regarding Cain: I like the guy and I would surely vote for him but someone posted a few days ago that there has never been a President without government experience of some sort. I don’t know about that but it might be significant.
Gee, what label could they put us on then, racism won't work........thank God, I am so tired of everything being labeled "racist" by the other side.
If he challenges The Fraudster for his bona fides to be POTUS, I’ll be all in.
but he is not a very good candidate for the actual nomination.
1. In 2006, he was diagnosed with Stage IV liver and colon cancer. While a VP (like Cheney) might be able to have serious health issues in his recent past, I don't think that the Undecideds will go for it in a Presidential candidate.
2. He is an "extremist" on abortion... and this is not a smear. His stated position is none, ever... including rape and incest. Again, the 40% of voters who are not devoted to a 'D' or 'R' vote (you know, the ones who actually decide these elections) will be greatly turned off by that, and the MSM will have a FACTUAL basis for their usual "too far-Right" mischaracterizations.
3. He has zero experience... even less than Obama did. He got 25% of the vote in a 3-way GOP nomination race for Zell Miller's old Senate seat, almost a decade ago. That is the sum total of his political experience. You don't go from losing your only HS game to being the starting QB in the Super Bowl.
He has a great mind, and great words, and many great ideas... but he would not be likely to win either the nomination or the Presidency.
I believe that the likes of MSN are ignore him for a couple reasons one he is a black conservative and that hardly fits their naritive of the Tea Party being a bunch of racist now does it? How do you handle something that you have long proclaimed doesn’t exsist? In fact how to you dismiss someone who’s black with out looking racist and make a fool of yourself with your blantant bias?
Second they tend to believe that the Beltway insiders and Republican elite pick our candidates and Herman Cain not their sort and will never be their favorite. MSN would and expects the party to pick someone more like their own types someone like Mitt, Newt or Daniels, someone that just wants to get along. Not someone that wants to take ‘Bammy’ out to the woodshed and give him what he deserves.
“Gee, what label could they put on us then....”
They’ll figure out something that resonates with the
hardcore base and quite possibly those brilliant,
really-really smart, intellectual-genius Independents.
(A bit of sarcasm there.)
IMHO
Palin = years of executive experience. Cain = nada.
I don’t understand the knock on Cain that he has no experience. Experience at what exactly? Being President of the United States? Experience in government? Because I would take someone like Cain who has a TON of experience at managing large operations - as an executive, which by the way has to be profitable at the end of the quarter, versus some government blowhard who has no incentive to be successful other than to save his own skin. The no experience angle is bunk. I work with government employees of the DoD every day and I would estimate 90% of them are wastes of Carbon.
Cain ran two major corporations, was the head of the national restaurants association, and a chairman of the KC federal reserve. Because he has not held elective office doesn’t mean jack squat. In fact, that is what I call a centerpiece of his campaign given the losers we have dealt with who do have elected experience in recent years.
What amazes me on FR is all the talk about how out of touch the MSM is and how out of touch the GOP elites are and then BAM: along comes Cain and many Freepers sit there and repeat the same thing the MSM and the elites think about an outsider candidacy and they think they are being deep thinking political analysts...kind of ironic.
Palin went from 2% name ID to 95% in less than 24 hours, as you said.
Cain's qualification is his executive experience. I have no idea how you came to such a silly conclusion.
Purchase of Bank Stocks Is a Win-Win for Taxpayers
This is an article by someone who clearly has missed the boat. If you still support him after reading this, so be it....
LOL!
Are you saying “executive experience” is only achieved as a politician?
So you don't think Cain has executive experience? How about David Petraeus?
Sorry, I like the guy and what he stands for but he has no name recognition...the same problem Hunter had.
Running a resturant and running a country? Seriously? Your comparing THAT?
