The plot had so many holes in it that it was really getting tough to suspend disbelief. It started out pretty good, but went down hill after whats-her-face met up with her alien Dad.

The cancellation that really ticked me off was: Kings

I never seen Firefly when it was broadcast (but marathoned all the episodes via Hulu). That was an awesome show.

The other one I felt highly entertaining: Farscape.

Syfy loses because of the incessant commercial breaks. Even with the DVR running, I tire of skipping the numerous commercials.

SGU had to have the obligatory homosexual and aids patient. Yawn.

I got really lost with the first episode or two, it was very jumpy. But I started to see everything lay down in place.
I only watched 'The Event' on commercial tv for a few episodes and got so confused between the commercials that I switched to watching it online without.

I believe this marks the first time since ST:TNG premiered in 1987 that there will be no “spaceships in space” type of show on television.

Well BBCA is still running Dr Who. Sure that is Blue Box in space, but it is a real cool blue box. And at least you know that aliens are going to show up every week.

Scifi has enough good material. (even bad material see MST2000)

When the suit (wasn’t it a female?) changed it to Syfy then it was just plain pointless.

SGU stopped the nanosecond they were pushing alternative lifestyles.

Galactica could not survive on nice effects.

Caprica? who cares.

Ghost hunters? all fake.

I liked "Ghost Hunters" when it first came out. Interesting premise. I got a kick out of watching the guys on it, occasionally find something. "Oh #$%$#!!! There really is a ghost here!!"

Now? ho-hum. Buncha drama school dropouts walking around in the dark and trying to scare themselves silly.

somehow ghost hunters reminds me of the cable access show of Ghostbusters where vekman is talking to the woman who was kidnapped by aliens at a bar at a holday in.

Reminds me of a great quote. Some years ago one network did a special on SciFi. One writer asked a rhetorical question: who sits around thinking about the future (in regard to the 20th century explosion of cheap scifi and fantasy pulps)? Answer: Teenage boys who can’t get dates. I still laugh at that line.

Sanctuary didn’t vanish, it was on hiatus, been back for a month. In July the wave of returns hits: Eureka, Warehouse 13, and Haven with the start of Alphas (which seems to be yet another hero show).

It will be back on 7/11 along with Warehouse 13.

Haven will be back on 7/15.
