Personal Security

Posted on 05/17/2011 1:40:17 PM PDT by ixtl

Just read the June, 2011 issue to Consumer Reports magazine. Emphasis on Security; home, personal, computer. Did not realize how easy it can be for someone to get your credit/debit card number. Hell, I may never leave the house again.

Get a gun, learn to use it, and be mentally willing to do what needs to be done.

Get a good security system for when you’re away.

Cough up the money to properly insure guns, silver, jewelry, and collectibles. It’s not as expensive as you may think.

Regarding credit cards: read your bill carefully.

I recommend AX. They call me whenever they spot an odd charge.

Consumer reports says this about guns:

Gun ownership is a controversial topic, but research has shown that homeowners with guns increase the risks in their home. Homeowners might make the mistake of not getting proper training and not securing their firearms. Thirty-two percent reported having a gun as a security measure. And 73 percent of gun owners thought it was very good or excellent for protection.

####

Comsumer Reports is a controversial topic.

Research has also shown that homeowners with power tools, cutlery, internal combustion engines, bathtubs and stairs also “increase the risks in their home”.

I have a difficult time even believing the page numbers in CR.
Their staff is fully populated with east coast liberals.

Be aware of your surroundings. Never have a routine. Try not to take the same way home every day. Leave enough room between your car and the car in front so you can get out of trouble in a hurry.
Buy a pistol. learn how to shoot it.Be prepared to use it if the time comes.
