i'm anti-kyoto, and anti- al gore, but the best way conservatives can persuade people to this, is to make better arguments.
conservatives need to do a better job arguing against global warming. they usually make 3 arguments which do not prove their point.
1. it is cold or snowing in one region of the world that is normally hot. some areas get colder, but global warming is about the overall change.
2. co2 is a necessity for human life. yes, but that doesnt mean much. venus has a lot of co2 for that matter.
3. temperatures were far higher than this century hundreds of thousands of years ago. true, but there is one difference: the industrial revolution. a global population of 5 million could survive global warming, but a global population of 9 billion cannot.

What arguments would you use?
How about this: ask someone what percent of the atmosphere is co2. Usually they’ll have no idea and will guess any where from 10% to 50% or more. Then inform them it is .038%
You better go to bed before you get zotted.
I’ve never used any of those arguments. They are as vacuous as those that are used to argue for it. Better arguments that it is not man made include such things as the corresponding measured rise in the temperature of Mars, the manipulated data used to support it, and even their own graphs that show the spikes of CO2 AFTER the temperature increases.
I don’t know that conservatives need to be making any argument at all. It is the hoaxers who have shoddy data and rampant public scandals (to many of them caught in lies) to be believed. Data either support their conclusions or it’s inconclusive at best. The fact that they either hide data that does not support their claims or simply make it up should cause any ration person to do a double take.

It’s not warming...
I’ve never heard anyone make these arguments, regardless of political tilt.
I have heard a variation on the third argument, but it appears that the writer has completely missed the point of the argument - which is that far greater climate changes have taken place in the past without any human involvement.
Therefore, it is naive and irresponsible to attribute any recent climate change to human cause.
Why irresponsible? First because the position is unsupported by science and hence is akin to a lie. Second, because committing resources in response to a falsity is unlikely to produce the desired results; moreover it diverts resources away from where they could actually do some good.
