Ashton Kutcher is reported to have signed a deal to replace Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men. Photographp
Ashton Kutcher is perhaps most famous for his elaborate practical jokes on fellow celebrities on MTV's Punk'd. But Twitter's most popular Hollywood star is now being lined up to star in the biggest sitcom on US television as the replacement for Charlie Sheen in Two and a Half Men.
Kutcher appeared to confirm the answer to one of the most speculated over questions in showbiz on Friday who will replace Sheen following his all-too-public meltdown with a Twitter message hinting at his role as the popular comedy's new lead man.
"What's the square root of 6.25?", Kutcher asked his 6 million Twitter followers. The answer 2.5 follows reports that he has all but signed a $1m-an-episode deal to replace Sheen.
Kutcher, who is married to the Ghost star Demi Moore, is widely expected to be unveiled as the show's new lead man as early as Wednesday, when CBS parades its new programming schedule in a glitzy presentation before advertisers in New York.

That'll work well...
This is no improvement.
What character will he play? Cousin Oliver?
Indeed.
They will loose me if they hire that guy.
I guess Ted McGliney wasn't available. You made me laugh out loud with that comment. :-)
Sorry, but I can’t see him in the role. Presuming it’s another role, it’s not going to be nearly as funny as Charlie’s lecherous drunk character. That’s what made the show.
He’s worth about $50m, and she’s worth about $150m (almost all from the divorce with Willis). Somehow I don’t think money is behind the match.
“McGinley has been called “the patron saint of shark-jumping” by jumptheshark.com founder Jon Hein. This is a reference to the popular and enduring shows which have featured him in their declining years. Such shows include Happy Days, The Love Boat and Dynasty.[6] Hein writes that this is not a comment “on Ted’s fine acting skills” and that “he has a great sense of humor about it, too”.[7] In one episode of Married... with Children (a show that stayed on the air for six seasons after McGinley’s addition to the cast) McGinley himself spoofed this fact by momentarily breaking the fourth wall by asking Al “Another picture, captain? I mean, Fonzie? ....Al?”. A 2003 issue of People that focused on McGinley’s casting on Hope and Faith was titled “Ted McGinley Is Not a Killer”, referencing his reputation for causing shows to jump the shark, though his long involvement with Married... with Children suggests otherwise; his contributions may have enabled the series to have a longer and more successful run.”

The guy just sounds perfect for the role lol......
The show was Sheen and his dead-pan was very funny.
Kutchner has made a career from being a goof.
2.5 men V2 is going to last three episodes and collapse. I just dont see Cryer whining to a dead-pan Kutcher.
Don’t kill your television. Just switch the channel to better programming. A win-win for both of you.
Kutcher will not able to pull off Charlies character so they have to bring him in as the secret brother mom never told them about or something goofy like that. And Charlie probably ran off and got married.
I enjoyed Charlie on that show but I think Sheen needed Cryer as his semi-straight man.
OMG! You're locked up in chains?!!
He was entertaining on “That 70’s Show”. I still probably won’t bother to tune in to 2.5, except by accident between the History Channel and FOX News.
Was he even born when that movie was released?:^)
Kuchner is an overgrown child, he won’t pull off playing the devious foil, week after week. Sheen is sick in the head, it’s what made him good at playing a jag off on a sitcom.
SHow cancelled half way through season with kuchner in place, IMHO.
It’s like replacing Redd Foxx with Bill Cosby on Sanford and Sons.
Or replacing Redd Foxx with "Grady" on Sanford and Son.
That it's going to SUCK BIG TIME!
Say what you want about Sheen, but he is what makes the show funny to me - without him it's over.
And I NEVER liked Ashton Kutcher. What a bad casting job!
