Today I was in Costco. As I entered the papergoods area a demonstration woman approached me about a sale on Northern triple ply quilted bathroom tissue.
It's my brand and I strongly support a soft 3 ply, but that's not my point.
The demonstration woman went on to show me on the packaging that Georgia Pacific donates money to the Susan G Komen foundation.
I stopped in my tracks and said " I wish you hadn't told me that. The Susan G Komen Foundation funds Planned Parenthood and Planned Parenthood ( or Planned Barrenhood) is the largest provider of abortions in the United States. I can no longer use my favorite brand of tissue or purchase anything else from Georgia Pacific because I will not allow my money to fund abortion."
She looked at me in disbelief.
Normally I am not outspoken, but I get such a punch in my gut when I am confronted by backdoor funding of something as hideous as a the murder of an inconvenient child that my mouth tends to run away from my brain.
Maybe I gave her something to think about or more likely she thinks that I am a nutcase.
I just wanted you to be informed so you can make the decision on your own if you want to support Planned Parenthood abortions by purchasing Georgia Pacific product.
We been through this before dealing with Costco. The founders of the company does donate against our conservative values but that isn't money from the company it is their own personal income.
I can disagree with who they donate to but it isn't unethical.
Skimming company profits for political donations is just plain stupid and unethical.
The founder might not but the company donates to all kinds of charities. I bet they even donate to Komen, almost everybody donates to Komen. It’s generally good PR, except for a small chunk of the people paying attention.
I used to be a Northern Gal but tempted by numerous coupons I now use Cottonelle - much superior IMHO
Thats what newspaper is for!
The editorial page of the NYT, in particular!
Thanks for the information. I’m so sick of seeing Ku Klux Klanned Parentood-supporting Susan G. Komen propaganda everywhere. The two make big money off the abortion/breast cancer cycle and do everything they can to perpetuate the cycle.
Chick-Fil-A.
While I understand your position, you should know Georgia Pacific is a wholey owned subsidiary of Koch Industries.
If you can’t support the number one business target of the left, who can you support?
Does anyone give the progressives indigestion worse than the Koch Brothers?
You are 100% right, but I will not KNOWINGLY support these companies.
Ditto for Home Depot.
“As I entered the papergoods area a demonstration woman approached me about a sale on Northern triple ply quilted bathroom tissue.”
At first I thought the demonstration woman was going to show this customer how to use the TP! My mind is way too far in the toilet.
I would have told her 3-ply is out and 4-ply is in these days and if they don’t have it I’m not buying it.
On a related note I found out that the Maryland Delaware Rocketry Association had a rocketry launch last year called Red Glare 9 which had a fund raiser for the Susan G. Komen foundation.
I sent the club an email to inform them about the connection between SGK and Planned Barrenhood with links, and the abortion/breast cancer connection (with links). I also asked them why they would raise money for something that promotes a vicious cycle between the two organizations. The only response I received was a ‘thank you.’

Which is better, boycotting a company that gives secondary support to an organization that benefits Planned Parenthood, or supporting one that is the number one enemy of the progressive Soros/Media complex?
Years ago I was keeping a list of all the retail stores that FReepers had “do not buy” comments for.
Eventually we got down to the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift store as the only one left, somebody posted an anti-Catholic screed, and we were out of options.
Haven’t you ever heard of “Name It And Claim It” or “Blab It And Grab It”?
I’ve noticed that over the years too. Boycott everyone.
“I now use

Ewwww!
You know why....
but newspaper leaves black ink on your behind...its for emergency only....darn I use northern, will have to quite..
Lol!
I just had to peek to find out why toilet someone’s paper made them sad. :)
Good for you about the email!
I know a lot of people out there don’t know the connection.
I didn’t know until about a year or two ago.
They’ll never see so much as a penny from me.
Lol! Yep, somebody already pointed out the problem with ink on your hiney.
Now I wanna know how you know if you have ink stains on your behind?
Does anyone really look? :)
I will never tell.....:O) Sears catalog has no bad ink, but the paper is slippery....LOL
