In this wide field image from the article, Orion M-42 nebula, can be seen on the far right, just below the galactic arm and appears as a reddish half moon circle. The man did a great job.
Below is an enlargement of M-42, which I shot from my backyard

SCT, 10"- 6.3 w/FR-19X65sec-CLS filter
Orion Nebula M-42. This nebula is about 1275- Light years from Earth. The nebula is a stellar nursery where over 700 stars at various stages are being formed within the central core of the nebula.
