On question 2 today the answer is the liberty dime. Here's the fascist symbol in question.

This will remain on the dime throughout the war and only will disappear in 1946 when the first FDR dimes are produced.

Hanson W. Baldwin was certainly a prolific author. His “United we Stand: Defense of the Western Hemisphere,” here reviewed, is in the University of Iowa Library which I will visit in a couple of days. I will look it up.

Interesting front page article on the FCC taking action against radio monopolies. NBC would soon be forced to sell its’ NBC Blue network, which would become ABC. The NBC Red network would simply be NBC.
