Off with their hats! It was bigger than the Super Bowl and as tacky as a legion of Elvis impersonators. Most of all, it was disturbingly white. Yesterday's little wedding of William and Kate, a worldwide showcase of dreadful hats, fad diets and an unusually sour, lemon-yellow-clad queen, was designed to prove to the common man that the royals, finally, were down with the people. But from the moment a triumphant Kate tiptoed with her dad onto the red carpet -- yes, she walked an actual red carpet to and from the altar -- I saw not a potential queen. Kate bore the look of a lithe human sacrifice. Or was she ready to faint from her starvation diet? Her mouth smiled. But in her eyes -- terror. Who can blame her? Kate waited eight years for this moment, outlasting an endless parade of bimbos and stunning babes, most of them blond, at least five of them wedding guests (go figure, Brits), to win the hand of the badly balding heir to the throne. "You look beautiful!" William said, sounding a trifle too surprised, as she sailed into his orbit. These had to be the second-most dorky words ever to emerge from the mouth of a prince, after Wills' dad's unfortunate musings on becoming Camilla's feminine hygiene product. Kate did her best to paint on a smile, as the claustrophobically reserved royal mob made asses of themselves, craning their necks to give Kate the once-over, like a hunk of meat. It was showtime! Perhaps it was a bad omen. Or a sign of water retention. But when it came time to be Mr. and Mrs. Or Duke and Duchess. Or whatever the heck this pair will call each other in the

Charles was always in love with Camilla.
He was forced into marrying a young proper girl to provide heirs to the throne.
Personally, I’m glad he was finally permitted to marry the one he loved.
LOL.............are you channeling “COMING TO AMERICA” ?
All the pomp and circumstance was amazing to watch. It was really quite a feat to put it all together. It was fun to watch, though I really don’t follow the royal family at all. I did shake hands with Prince Charles in Nassau back in the 70s, though.
MLK would be disappointed that the author is still judging people by the color of their skin rather then the content of their character.
I saw many remarks on forums and in articles about the Brits being ‘racist’ because few if any blacks were photographed at the wedding.
Disgusting. Just can’t leave the race card alone for a minute.
Well we may object to them living together like Prince Edward and his wife Sophie did too..but that said, this is not an ordinary family these ladies married into. And apart from the one slip up Sophie made early on in their marriage, there has not been negative press about them. They have their lives and are raising their kid nicely and there is not a scent of ugliness around them.
So maybe this time they had gave them the time to get to know each other, and for Kate to know the ways of Buck House and the Firm before taking this step. I think they will be just fine and I wish them the best. There is no need for the press or anyone else to be ugly about them or their wedding day.
How did the Royal wedding go over “Down Under”?
I have no idea how Australians feel about the Monarch and the Royals.
Always want to visit there, though! (Been to England)
Bea sat right behind the Queen in church, and the hat rose behind her and quivered as if beckoning to the teletubbies.
That hat has its own facebook page! Sister Princess Eugenics did only slightly better, wearing a Mardi-Gras-Krewe-meets-Robin Hood costume that fit much better before when she was measured, 30 pounds ago. Whoever told that poor stolid girl that 5 yards of shiny blue satin pouffed around her rear end was slimming?
Take THAT, Andrea!
Wow Andrea, hate much? Showing once again why its impossible to out-hate a lib.
Just because Zippy wasnt there handing out ipods chock full of his greatest teleprompter moments and the Wook unable to backslap the Queen is no reason to go all-out nuclear PMS. Little Boy Blunder has dissed the Brits a few too many times and theres no reason the Royals must meet some prattling libs affirmative action quotas.
Someone better position the fainting couch for Andrea.

VERY good. LOL
I enjoyed the ceremony, and while I did blink a few times at some of the hats, nothing I saw made me turn off the tube. I loved Kate's dress, and her sister's dress, and while I certainly could never wear yellow, figured there was a reason for the Queen selecting that color. Even seeing old perverted Elton John in the Abbey did not make me think anything negatively about the ceremony. I thought it was done beautifully and not much of Prince Charles's earth worship invaded the service. IT was the couples day and they did not embarrass themselves and I hold NO ill will for them on their day.
The one striking thing I observed was how in tuned Kate was to the saluting by Prince William (sorry I do not recall his new title) to the various military (if that is the correct term) as the couple rode to the Palace. She was as precise in her head going slightly down as the Prince was in giving his salute... I thought she was awesome.
She is referred to in NYC circles as a "poison-pen reporter", the city's "Madame Defarge knitting as the tumbrels roll by on the way to the guillotine", and often merely "mentally ill".
She's married to some NYCity denizen....and I have a picture of what he looks like and acts like seeing he's married to this jealous, never-happy, psychotic bitch.

I hope Prince William does not forget the misery his father caused his mother with his carrying on with Camilla..For all her faults, Diana did not start her own affairs until after Fred and Gladys were outed so to speak. That does not make what she did right. That said, William I hope remembers all this and will be true to his new bride and her to him.
Camilla and Charles should have married when they were in their 20s but she had “ a past” so she didn’t qualify, according to the rules of the day. That is the sad part of this Greek tragedy. It should have been Diana in the room during the signing of the register but it wasn’t..and I don’t think that was lost on Prince William..
Let’s not speak badly of this new couple unless and until they do something to deserve a scolding.
To be honest, it meant almost nothing to me. How much of that pomp is responsible for horrible social policies and excessive taxes? Like why don’t they do things to really deserve their positions, like eliminate all income taxes so those British people can stop being slaves of the state.
This is one angry biatch.
And KAte, in my opinion, would probably have looked better if she hadn’t gone on a diet. She was already way thin. Softer and curvier is better.
If that was her intent then she should have said that. Quite frankly, as they did live together I don’t think any of the costs for the wedding should be on the back of the taxpayer. The queen and the Middletons should have picked up the whole tab. That is where my negative view of the wedding ends. I hope this couple learned enough about each other to have made a wise decision.
Prince Edward and Sophie his wife did this same thing...and so far as I know they have remained out of the tabloids and are happy with their lives and their children. Let’s just wish the same for William and Kate and otherwise leave them alone to begin their new lives.
What the hell are “they” supposed to do? Truck in black people and and issue a decree that 49% of camera time must have a “black theme???”

A photo-shopped picture is worth a thousand words.
andrea doesn’t realize that Brits don’t count how many friends “of color” they have like liberals in America do.
