To be honest, it meant almost nothing to me. How much of that pomp is responsible for horrible social policies and excessive taxes? Like why don’t they do things to really deserve their positions, like eliminate all income taxes so those British people can stop being slaves of the state.
I just saw it as a beautiful wedding.
The announcers said it costs the equivelent of $1 or one pound, sorry can’t recall, for each British citizen, to support the Royal family per year. I guess if they don’t want to pay they will do something on their own without Americans butting in.
All of that "pomp" is what brings billions of tourists to England, which helps fill the coffers, which Labour then turns around and spend on garbage welfare/nanny state things.
Prime Ministers and parliament are responsible for those things, not royalty. The Queen can't raise one penny of tax, nor can she order one soldier to battle. The Royal Family generates hundred of millions for the British economy every year, just in tourism.
