Governor Mitt Romney has signed into law a permanent assault weapons ban that he says will make it harder for criminals to get their hands on these guns.
Deadly assault weapons have no place in Massachusetts, Romney said, at a bill signing ceremony on July 1 with legislators, sportsmen's groups and gun safety advocates. These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.
Like the federal assault weapons ban, the state ban, put in place in 1998, was scheduled to expire in September. The new law ensures these deadly weapons, including AK-47s, UZIs and Mac-10 rifles, are permanently prohibited in Massachusetts no matter what happens on the federal level.
We are pleased to mark an important victory in the fight against crime, said Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey. The most important job of state government is ensuring public safety. Governor Romney and I are determined to do whatever it takes to stop the flood of dangerous weapons into our cities and towns and to make Massachusetts safer for law-abiding citizens.
The new law also makes a number of improvements to the current gun licensing system...
Plan D it is then...
Sorry, I was trying to be moderate about the whole thing you know, consider all sides of the issue before making up my mind, blah, blah, blah.
There are a couple other issues of which I disagree with him about, besides the bad impression I have of him.
The cost of the ammo fades into insignificance compared to the cost of the weapon. The post '86 ban (signed into law by Reagan) has had the effect of driving prices through the roof.
Go into the voting booth & take alcohol wipe wipe down ballot pull out Bic lighter & torch your ballot when asked why simply state that if God wanted us to vote for these turds he would have made the candidates( both parties) more worthy than a peice of feces smeared toilet paper.
Not quite. MAC-10s are both .45 and 9mm. The MAC-11 is smaller, and is .380 caliber.
I think my company will expand on it’s ban to sales to any government that bans guns to citizens.
Mitt Romney, don’t bother running for President. You just lost the election. You really have no business even running if you think you can infringe on the CIVIL Rights of the citizens of your state.
Just walk away....maybe they will donate to FR....:o)
Powder..patch..ball FIRE!
Glad to know my gut feelings about Rommneybot were correct. He will never get my vote for anything.
Krauthammer is on Fox pushing Romney as a heavyweight right now. What is he thinking? The base obviously hates Romney.
Powder..patch..ball FIRE!
They want to pull another McPain on us. The base will be so angry (won’t vote), or Trump ala Perrot will split the vote giving a win to Nobama.
Anything to win.
Maybe it is time to get a third party going.
This is why the left wants hm so bad.
I’m 60 years old and haven’t missed a vote yet, so I’ll either be finding a 3rd party candidate or leaving it blank.
what surprises me is the number of people on the right (supposedly) supporting him. I guess to some folks, the only thing that matters is that he slaps an R at the end of his name and promises to continue sucking Chinese and Arab ....
Romney is no RINO, he is a nationalist socialist just like some democrats, most of whom are communists in fact. Romney is more than a gun grabber, be is an elite big global government guy too, a globalist who will gladly take our republics freedoms in his quest for power. Thats why the 4th estate likes him.
Because they think he can win.
bttt
Former Sheriff hereabouts is often asked what the best tactical rifle is, in his opinion. He says Winchester 94 in 30-30. Nobody looks at one twice, unless it’s aimed at them, and you can buy ammo cheaply and in places like the gas station in Powers, OR. Having seen what 170 gr. Core-lokts do to flesh, I’d be hard pressed to argue with his assessment.
