NEW YORK – A New Jersey woman was stabbed in the face with a pen on a New York City subway train after she tried to stop a man from lighting a cigarette. The assault occurred on a crowded No. 3 train near the Chambers Street station during Tuesday's morning rush. Witnesses told the Daily News and the New York Post that an argument quickly escalated when Evelyn Seeger asked the man not to smoke. The witnesses say two riders were trying to restrain the man when he pulled out a pen and slashed Seeger's face. Seeger, of Nutley, N.J., was treated at a hospital and released. Police charged the man with felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

A straphanger hellbent on stopping a vagrant from smoking pot on a crowded Manhattan subway was stabbed in the head with a pen yesterday after she yanked a lighter from his hands, sources said.
Evelyn Seeger, 45, of Nutley, NJ, was attacked by deranged stoner Cordero Coroberto, 35, on a southbound No. 2 train near 14th Street about 9:15 a.m. after he tried to light a blunt — a cigar refilled with tobacco and marijuana, a witness said.
“The argument started when he tried to light it . . . he swung at her and hit her with the pen on the forehead,” said Marc Bush, one of several good Samaritans who pinned Coroberto in a corner until the train arrived at Chambers Street, where cops were waiting on the platform.
Seeger was rushed to Beekman Hospital, where she was given a tetanus shot, treated and released.
Coroberto was charged with second-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana.
His priors include dozens of busts for sleeping on the subway, turnstile jumping and criminal mischief.
Outlaw pens, and only criminals will be able to write.
Oh please! You really think a crowded New York subway train is a proper place to voice your displeasure over someone lighting up a cigarette? There's a difference between dollars and cents and common sense and this broad was obviously bankrupt in the latter.......
What she did was about as intelligent as telling a group of black teenagers on the same train to pull their pants up over their butts.........Stupid is as stupid does!

Man starts to light up.
Woman tells him to stop.
Man taunts woman with cigarette flame (could be assualt, dont know specifics) while woman starts yelling more
Two other men not involved try to restrain while woman tries to knock lighter out (1s example of physicality in story)
Man slashes (stabs) woman’s face with pen
Man is charged for criminally haveing a pen
This whole thing reminds me of a conversation my friend had at work once:
Friend: You know, smoking is bad for your health
Smoker: Telling me what to do is bad for yours
Also, she was either stabbed or slashed, the writer needs to make up their mind. Not that one is better than the other, but how about some consistency from headline to article. Its just like last year when a fire broke out on a Production Platform in the Gulf, and the headline said Rig on fire while the article talked about the Platform. Or like how every writer thinks every handgun is a Glock. Or how they dont know the difference in a clip and a magazine.
If you look closely, you can see that the fat ass smashed the windshield. In addition to pissing the driver off even more, it probably also gave the driver a plausible “I feared for my life” self defense.

Why do you assume she is a Democrat? Asking somebody not to smoke on a subway train where it is illegal to smoke is not exactly a Socialist move. It is a request for common courtesy and consideration for others.
