Yes, it's all about me, somebody please post the attention whore picture of the girl doing the cartwheel on the beach, that will complete this thread. But before I begin my respite (I'll be back after the 2012 election) I thought I would outline the coming events about to unfold on the FreeRepublic.
1) Undoubtedly, a RINO, probably Romney, will win the GOP Nominee spot. This will all be decided by mostly liberal states before any conservative states get a say in it, as Rove has designed the process.
2) A true Conservative Tea Party Candidate will have to run under the Tea Party label to be elected. The Rovites will be on the FR in droves stating "That a vote for a 3rd party is a vote for a Democrat" again. Sadly, most Freepers will fall for it and vote for the RINO despite all the big talk.
3) In the meantime, the forums are going to get ugly, I mean real "mad dog" ugly. As many as 1/3 of more of the people posting will be hired guns, here to disrupt and tell Freepers which candidates cannot be elected. You'll know who they are if pay attention.
4) This will be most the most vicious, corrupt election ever, marred by violence in many cases, and lies so outlandish coming from the MSM it will seem unbelievable that anybody could fall for it, yet they will. Voter fraud will be extremely high, and much of Obama's campaign money will come from overseas as he will again turn off the AVS check on his donation system so that the money "literally cannot be tracked" just as was done in 2010.
5) Many Freepers will fall on their swords, come unglued, and be beside themselves on the events that are about to unfold, it will be too much for them to handle. Moderators will have their hands full.
That is all, end communication, see you after the 2012 elections folks. I'm in a good spot, don't plan to argue or worry over the election at all, it is what it is. I'd share my thoughts on who will end up winning but no need to bring everyone down. I'm going to go enjoy my summer, family, and drop out until after the election. I'll vote, you can bet out that.

I'd rather live out the rest of my life someplace beautiful but relatively backward than witness up close and personal the dismantling of the greatest experiment in freedom in human history.
It's bad enough that our federal government has been taken over by misguided radicals who hate everything that made the U.S. exceptional...what really hurts is how many people are cheering them on.
We see the same “PDS” name calling and if you don't support Palin, your are a low life “Hater”, etc, the name calling and the personal insults are again, running unchecked, and if you worship Palin, you get a free pass. If you support a different candidate than Palin, or don't agree that she is nothing short of Mother Theresa, Joan of Arc or the Virgin Mary, you are watched closely and frequently harassed by her disciples.
I agree, I am also getting seriously burned out at all the name calling and uncivil tone that has begun to dominate here. I am also taking a back seat like I did in 2008. It just is not worth the time to keep defending one’s dignity from so many unreasonable attacks.
I would like to see a dozen more election cycles like we just had. We have made a dent, if not a hole in the plans of those inside the beltway.
It will be easier,faster and more productive for Tea Party people to make changes in the GOP than form a third party. IMHO
Republicans, democrats and the media have attacked Tea Party people as a group and individually. We must be doing something right for them to worry about us as a political force.
Rome wasn't built in a day and nether will US politics at the national and local levels change in a day.
To win the war, first you must win the battles you can by next Friday is an old saying, but ever so true.
Your post reads like you want to bug out while things are tough and then when things settle out, come back and enjoy the fruits of others carrying on the fight.

Of course you’re right, it’s inevitable. I remember how tense it gotten during the Clintoon reelection; now I look back on those times and laugh (almost). I’ll do my best to stick around in spite of it; there’s nowhere else to get as much honest info as here. But I worry I’ll be needing a prescription for something by fall.

A good example of that is W. Wilson, Roosevelt and Taft, in 1912. Roosevelt lost to Taft in the primaries, so he went 3 rd. party (Bull Moose) against Taft. They split the Conservative vote 27% Roosevelt, 23% Taft and Wilson won with only 42% of the vote. Almost a carbon copy of 1992 where Perot was the spoiler.
But Party 1 and Party 2 are for losers NOW...
“First American Party” will be better. It’s time to clean house, to end corruption etc..

If the GOP candidate is someone like Romney, then they don't deserve to win the election, and if they did win it, it would simply mean more socialism, just from a GOP President instead.
Under such a scenario, a third party vote would be quite appropriate.
The only solution is to get a good, conservative candidate to win the GOP nomination. The way that Rove and his Establishment ilk have engineered things, that doesn't seem likely.

No, FR is a gathering place for those who still believe in this nation's Founding Principles, and are willing to fight for them.

Once upon a time in America, not automatically caving in to the opinion of the 2/3 majority at the Town Hall was called "speaking your mind".
Now, some people believe that not automatically caving in to what the 2/3 majority at the Town Hall thinks is "being a hired gun and a disrupter". Everybody, in their opinion, should think exactly alike and their fragile nerves just cannot take the shock of anybody upsetting The Natural Order of Things.

Well, I'm taking the opposite tack. I will do everything I can to try to ensure that Barack Hussein Obama will NOT be reelected President of the United States of America.
If that means arguing against a candidate that 2/3 of the Town Hall absolutely adores but 3/4 of America cannot stand and will therefore guarantee Barack Hussein Obama an easy reelection victory, I will argue against such a candidate, despite opposition from 2/3 of the Town Hall. My nerves will stand up just fine.
