Weve seen a lot of footage of the tragic Japan tsunami, but this clip is the most horrifying yet. Entitled South Sanriku Tsunami seen from Shizugawa High School, its shot from high ground, but toward the end of the video you can see panicked residents running for their lives.
Almost as dramatic as the video is its audio track, where even if you dont speak Japanese, you can tell the people are expressing concern at the beginning, but by the end, their voices have reached a high level of panic and horror as they watch their homes washing away.
Shortly after the tsunami, one survivor called the oncoming deluge a gigantic pile of garbage coming down the street. Thats an apt description, as you can see an entire town reduced to a huge pile of watery debris in a matter of minutes. Shocking.
What’s freaky is that you can go to Google Street View and still see how the town looked before the Tsunami hit, and realize that everything you see is gone.
Horrifying and breathtaking. Thanks for posting this.
Stunning video. Horrifying.
So frightful the last 30 seconds where some folks were trying to help someone in a wheelchair get up onto the hillside. One Samaritan can be seen swept off the platform.
I'll never speak lightly about tsunamis ever again.
Oh My God! There are certainly people running who did not make it. These poor people.
This is the third time in the last 12 hours this has been posted when it was already posted several times a few weeks back.
Come on people, search is your friend. Wouldn’t to scroll a few pages as well...
=8-)
When it’s something this horrifying I don’t care how many times it’s been posted.
For those of us who don’t LIVE on FR and already have plenty of friends, THANKS JoeProBono for posting it!
Ditto.
There but for the grace of God... My prayers for Japan and all affected by this natural disaster.
Major league stunner.
For someone who just registered 4 days ago, you have the some gall to criticize a repost. It would be best for you to keep your mouth shut noob, until you have some time here under your belt!</i>

About once every 4 hours isn’t bad. What are the rules/regs on duplicate postings?
Well, excuse us, for not living to your standards. Not everyone has time to see and read an article and then go scrolling around to see if someone else has posted it.
Free Republic is my homepage. So whenever I’m on the computer, I see the articles posted. Invariably, I’ll scroll through all on the first page to see postings I’ll want to read. Whenever I go to a different web site and then leave it, I refresh the FR page. I was online three hours last night and I didn’t see the article nor have I seen the offending video posting today you mention even one time until I clicked on it. Sometimes it is a bit aggravating to see the same article posted over and over; however, not all articles on a subject are the same. Different writers and different sources do cover an event and may well be worth the time to read different perspectives. In this instance, this video is one that ought to be seen by many people. If it takes postings made by different folks, then good for them.
My thanks to JoeProBono for committing this heinous act of again posting this video.
Come on people, search is your friend. Wouldnt to scroll a few pages as well...
My first time to see it, noob. Lighten up.
Never in my life have i ever seen anything remotely as horrible as these tsunami videos.
