Playboy Mansion Illness Traced To Hot Tub Bacteria

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County health officials say the bacteria that causes Legionnaires' disease was found in a hot tub at the Playboy Mansion where scores of people became ill after attending a fundraiser in February.

The Los Angeles Times says health officials presented their findings Friday at an annual conference at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta.

Unimaginable bacteria, germs, viruses, diseases. Oh, I thought this was about Obamacare!

One could say the same for any private hot tub as well. Staph, Pasteurella and Pseudomonas species, among others, are also common in hot tubs and can cause what is often called non-specific folliculitis, which if untreated, can become a pretty serious skin dz.

NS folliculitis goes well past a few "zits" on your back, thighs or groin, the infections can go deep into the tissues and cause something called cellulitis which can become quite serious if the infection makes it to the bloodstream or lyphatic system.
