Yeah. I was actually glad the swimmer was completely ignored and that the focus was just on Jack, Jackie, Bobby, Ethel and Rosie and old Joe.
Right. QVC, costume jewelry ala Jackie. I wonder who has her genuine stuff? Caroline and her offspring or maybe Caroline sold it at auction.
Rose went through Hell with Joe for a husband.
I read that Caroline sold all of Jackie’s jewelry, except for one piece. I would have given it to a museum.
Now its irrelevant, like the Kennedys themselves.

No, this is a very well done series and the Kennedys are and will be relevant. Especially, when the BO’s are constantly compared to them and Camelot. There is no comparison so it’s a good political statement. And that makes it relevant.
So I am sitting in the living watching The Kennedy’s and a friend calls. He asks me what I’m doing and I tell him “Watching the Kennedy’s. It’s last episode”.
“Oh?” he says “John Kennedy dies in that one, right?”
And I’m like “What? You ruined the ending!”
and then I hung up on him.

LOL
Sorry Tiger. Kinears acting was thoughtful and very good but I felt like he was more than lazy in not portraying JFK with a Bostonian accent.
The other actors took their jobs more seriously.
Good series though.
Joe, Jr., while serving in England, was having an affair with the wife of a British soldier. And the series said nothing about Jack’s older sister who married, then divorced a British earl, then died (also in a plane crash) en route to meeting in Southern France the Brit SHE was seeing.
For a series like this...the DVD’s for the whole series are only $29.95...what a deal.
It isn’t so much that the Ks were good friends of Joe McCarthy. Joe, Sr., wanted his boys’ stars to rise with McCarthy’s. What better way to assure that than having the best known senator in the country stand as godfather? McCarthy hired Bobby as one of several counsels to his subcommittee in the Senate and did not campagn for Henry Cabot Lodge against Jack in the Mass. Senate race. Both were favors to Joe, Sr., who did actively support JRM. Neither Kennedy son ever publicly recognized JRM’s support or friendship during McCarthy’s later battles.
Nevertheless, much as I detest most of the Kennedys, Bobby’s grasp of political campaigning is still unmatched. “Ethyl” is right in the movie when she consoles Bobby after his primary loss in Washington: “Jack had YOU.”
The best Cuban Missile story (and I do mean story) ever, is William F. Buckley’s “Seeya Later, Alligator.” Of course, it’ll never be a movie, because it’s probably closer to the truth about what happened than anything we’ve yet been told. If you haven’t read it, order it.
Thanks
All of that was left out, and Maria Shriver and Caroline Kennedy still felt threatened by the series.
Just wondering if you're living out there in LA-LA Land...:)
Did you ever see The Christmas Visitor?
Three whore masters.
“Rose went through Hell with Joe for a husband.”
So did Rose Marie. When I read a book about the Kennedy’s that was just heart retching what he did to her.
It was covered in the series, and Rose was devastated. Joe had the lobotomy done to Rosemary without even telling Rose. Joe was always in absolute control until he had the stroke. Then Rose took over, and the first thing she did was to fire his secretary/mistress.
This series showed the affairs of old Joe and Jack, but it portrayed Bobby as a faithful husband. In fact, Jack called him a boy scout who didn't drink or cheat on his wife.
Jack was out of control with women, and at one point, Jackie told her father-in-law she wanted a divorce.
